A person holding an elective office must resign that office/seat before they can file to run for another elective office.

[That would get rid of those who hold an office until they can get themselves elected to a higher office.]

Add Alcohol/drug/dementia testing will be mandatory for politicians. If we the people can be tested the so should those who make laws for us. I agree with serving is an honor & the rest..

Since so many seem to have drug & drinking problems I think it is something that needs to be done. I seem to recall 0 just being told to drink less unless I misunderstood.

I've been advocating that for years, think we would get rid of 1/4 to 1/3 of the trash just on random alcohol and drug tests alone.

Annual performance reviews would be mandatory.Severe penalties for not sticking to constitutionally fostered legislation

You will not fix Congress until the American voter understand they who they have to put in office. Hint: It is not Obama or McCain.
