"I thought GE sold NBC to Comcast recently?"

Just controlling interest. GE still owns around 49%.

The first part of Mr. Olbermann’s statement made sense to me, and I found little I would object to. However, Mr. Olbermann does not seem to understand the life panel/death panel situation.

The “life panel” composed of family members that Mr. Olbermann described apparently has functioned quite well in carrying out the wishes of his ill father and in planning for some flexibility in their decisions.

The “death panels” described by conservatives are the decision-makers who would determine whether or not certain procedures and/or medications would be cost effective and, thus, allowed or withheld. THE DEATH PANEL MEMBERS WOULD NOT BE FAMILY MEMBERS. These “death panels” would be bureaucrats -- an integral part of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Package.

My prayers go out to the senior Mr. Olbermann and all his family.

My prayers also go out for the people of this nation. We are a good and free people who want, like Mr. Olbermann’s family, to make our own decisions. We do not want or need socialism. We are Americans. We take care of our own.
