Attorney general files court petition to oust Christian County assessor

OZARK, Mo. -- Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster wants a judge to remove Christian County Assessor Sandra Bryant-Littles from office. Koster filed what's known as a quo warranto petition in Christian County Circuit Court on Friday.

Last fall, a federal grand jury handed up indictments against Bryant-Littles and her husband, Lonnie Littles.

The cases against Bryant-Littles and Litttles are still pending but the attorney general decided the evidence behind the indictments is enough evidence for a judge to conclude Bryant-Littles should be removed from her elected office "for violating her known duties to properly assess all personal property, including her own and that of her husband, during her term of office,” the quo warranto petition says.
