The American mainstream media has been on a collision course with reality for several years. It appears the day of reckoning has arrived as both ABC News and CBS News make announcements today that indicate deep financial woes. In short, the mainstream media is going down as the big news giants begin to implode.
For quite some time now it has been widely known that NBC News and its sister networks MSNBC and CNBC are in dire financial straits. That news was confirmed with the sale of the entity a few months ago.
Today, however, ABC News announced that it is cutting its news correspondent staff by half and that it will close all of its 'brick and mortar' news bureaus, except for its Washington hub.
In addition, CBS News is reportedly talking with CNN's Anderson Cooper concerning an anchor position with the network. CBS has already been forced to cut Katie Couric's salary, and Couric's contract is set to expire in a little over a year.

After a long and exhausting search for someone worse than Katie Couric to anchor their news department.... they finally found Anderson Cooper.
Could try truth..for a change....but they would need an ano-optic neurectomy first...in order to see it....
I would endure 1 short depression just to see all them go down and be replaced by something more populist. Death penalty and gun rights.

Someone can fill us in for the present if changed, but up until recently CBS was owned by Viacom, in the name of one Sumner Redstone over 50% owner, also of Paramount Studio's, and several advertising agencies. Viacom has agenda's and hires accordingly.

Well I can’t find Fox live news on line anymore...I’m in withdrawal!!!! Awful!!! So I went to abc and nbc...I need news! Well would you believe I lasted about one hour on each and no longer listen to any...except cnn here and there. They were truly bad to hear and to watch was a killer! Not good for my mental well being!
I now have to settle for Fox radio...which is just not the same...withdrawal from Fox programs is the pits!..sad...I think I’m even mourning!

Even when/if ABCCBSNBC goes under, to me, it will be like when the Berlin wall fell, it will take years before I believe it actually happened.
I’ve refused to watch one minute of Katie Couric or Diane Sawyer, and NBC is in the tank for Obammy and the dems.
Anderson Cooper? Oh boy, that changes everything.
