My son is dating a young woman from Spain.
When visiting she was shocked by the types and amounts of over the counter pain-killers (motrin etc) antihistamines, vitamins, and minerals we in the US can buy.
I guess in Spain you are limited to a small amount and for many of the items you need permission from a doctor to buy.
I told her this is America. We are free to buy most things. We don’t want to live under a nanny-state govt.
Her reply was that it would be so easy for someone to overdose or make themselves sick.
My answer was “we are adults, do your homework, and take care of yourself”.
She still couldn’t understand it.

I remember when ephedra products were banned or limited. Most Americans didn’t care. Because they didn’t take them, so, so what.
Now tobacco products are being wayyyyyy over taxed and over regulated. Most Americans say, so what. Because they don’t use them.
I didn’t take ephedra, and I don’t use tobacco, but I care.
I know that at some point this nanny state govt. will come after something I do use and do care about.
Vitamins and minerals are just one of those.
Please wake up everyone. Every small thing this govt. bans or regulates mean one less freedom we have.
I do not want to be like Europe, where they rely on the govt. to tell them what to do and how to do it.
The one thing that drives me crazy is the hoops you have to jump through to get Sudafed, the generic equivalent or any kind of antihistamine with Sudafed in it-which us allergy sufferers need.
Seems like almost every time I go to the grocery, I have to buy a package of it to keep us supplied because you can only buy a small amount at a time. Used to be able to buy a bottle of 50 tabs.
I know it’s because of meth, but it inconveniences everyone.
Yep, wait until toilet paper rationing.
I’d advise planting corn.
