When I was at Southern Miss in the late 80’s there was a big push to ban assault rifles. All the media were pushing it.

One of the local TV stations had on a Hattiesburg Cop. They were interviewing him as an expert on firearms. One statement he made immediately showed him to know nothing of what he was saying.

He said the AR-15 could not be used for hunting because if you hit a deer with that cartridge there would be nothing left to eat.

Yes he really did say it.

Which is incredibly stupid because some states won’t allow you to use .223 on deer for fear it’s too SMALL!

Well he's right. The deer would run off to where you could never find it, probably die days later, and the coyotes, big cats and or buzzards would eat it.
