Generation Zero Docu on Hannity Says Liberalism and Baby Boomers Are Cause of US Financial Meltdown

The Generation Zero Documentary—first previewed at the Tea Party Convention and CPAC—on Hannity last night confirmed that liberalism and the Baby Boomer generation were indeed the cause of the US financial meltdown, not to mention the worst recession since the Depression in the US. The brainchild of Steve Bannon and Dave Bossie, Generation Zero wasn't screened in its entirety on Hannity, but was broken down into several segments which were then analyzed in specific detail by Hannity and its creators. A pejorative reference to the Baby Boomer Generation that came of age in the drug-fueled and "If it feels good, do it" 60s, Generation Zero persuasively connects the dots between a dilapidation of both social and cultural values in the US that ultimately paved the way for the financial meltdown of 2008 and beyond.

That group guilt has always been the raison d’être for extermination of classes of people by socialist regimes from Le Directoire to the bolsheviks to to Pol Pot.

That’s why I told her not to bother coming to me sniveling about being broke.

Haven’t seen this documentary, but it is very common for the Boomer generation to be blamed for many changes that were actually brought about by the Greatest Generation and the Tweener, Korean era generation. Boomers were not in positions to change much of anything, or enact a single law in Congress or state legislature, or Boards of Education until around the mid-1980s.

Tell her to write a book-that’s a great story to share with other “youts”.

She could call it: “The Bald Fat Guy Was Right” (luv your tagline!)

Seriously-what an interesting and hell on earth way to learn a lesson.
And thank her for her service to our Country.

A boomerbashing thread. I always love these. People can blame a whole age group for all the world’s ills. Maybe we ought to blame the boomer’s parents?

I did not see the entire video. I am a baby boomer. I was born in 1948. I model myself after my parents who worked hard and saved money. I am not lazy but I did have a better and easier life than they did. I can say that my generation was a bit spoiled when you compare our life to that of our parents.

There was something else going on which started in the FDR years. Socialism and New liberalism emerged. There were good thing introduced in my time like the beginning of the end of racial discrimination. There were also damaging things like over indulgence and a sense of entitlement.

I have two daughters and their mom refers to them as, "The sane one" and "The crazy one." You can figure out which is which. In my life I have always had a soft spot for the bad dog, the jumpy, skitich horse. In the Army as a sergeant, I always like the soldier who was considered the screw up in my platoon. A little love, a little discipline to any of these and you have their undying loyalty. You never completely break them, but then you do not want to.

I love both my daughters with all of my heart, but I have always had a closer attachment to the so called crazy one. They are the ones everyone expects will break your heart but they never do.

Thanks for the post. It would seem that Free Republic is experiencing a troll infestation. Not the whacko unhinged type but one that's a lot more devious. My point being that at this point in time the rats are starting to become very very nervous about their chances come November. They realize that one thing they can try to do is to splinter their opposition in the hopes of winning a three way race. I'm seeing this subtle, and not so subtle attempt to do this on FR. As conservatives we need to stick together to force these thieves out of office and these trolls off of FR.

Saul Alinsky was not a baby boomer. Rush Limbaugh, however, . . .

You can make a pretty fair case that Barry 0 is not a baby boomer either.

We don’t know if Barry is a Boomer since we don’t know for sure when he was born. I hope he is at least 35.

“The people responsible for the financial meltdown are the politicians, the MSM and the arrogant government bureaucrats who are destroying the greatest economy in the history of the world.”

Don’t forget the birth of the “Self” movement.
Ok..your an 18 years old male....ready for college or the work force.
You are told unless you go to college, or are married and have at least one child, you will be drafted into the army and sent to Viet Nam where US troops patrol rice paddies with orders not to fire their weapons.

Being a member of the Armed Forces is a little different then the Woodstock culture.
Get caught smoking grass in Bootcamp and they will run you through a gauntlet of hell.....And.... then there’s that whole thing about obeying orders, yes, even from someone dumber then yourself .

So , if that is not the life for you, What to do?...What to do?.....

America is a Great country, you always have options !

A. Get your Parents to pay your tuition, enroll in college for as long as there is a war,
( lots of multiple Masters & PHDs granted during that period) and become a Peace Activist.

B. Take out a Government student loan ( which you probably won’t ever pay
back) enroll for as long as there is a war ( lots of multiple Masters & PHDs
granted during that period) and become a Peace Activist.

C. Get someone to declare you exceptional and get a college grant or scholarship.

D.Marry someone and get her pregnant

E. Declare yourself a homosexual

F. Get a Doctor to say you have really bad eye sight.

G. Move to Canada

Failure to do any of the above and you will have to wait until Jimmy Carter is elected president before you come out of your hole.... But..... the good news is, you can spend the rest of your life as a professor, journalist or Government employee, validating with authority, your teenage decision and invalidating those who disagreed with you. Helps fight the guilt you may feel.knowing that staged Kent State image does not trump The Wall.

What a beautiful response!

I am the crazy daughter, my sister is the sane one-so I know exactly what you are saying.

I just have a passion for life and don’t want to miss a second of it; some people confuse that with craziness and think I don’t look before I leap.
But I do look, and I leap because I want to see what’s on the other side or down below!

As Auntie Mame would say: “Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death”...

I think it is also fair to say that during the 50’s and 60’s, the communist/socialist types were becoming quite active as faculty in academia.

It wasn't Boomers who made Social Security. It wasn't Boomers who made the Great Society. They're just the last straw on a three-legged camel.

The “greatest generation” is the one that came home and then broke the piggy bank voting for every expansion of the welfare state. By the time the boomers were of voting age the damage was long done.
////////

What bothers me is these self rightous @astards like LBJ, Ted Kennedy and Murtha voted for these welfare state programs, died and left us the financial mess.

It bugs me, when Hannity and a lot of other concerned people talk about how this out of control spending and debt will fall on our children and grandchildren. It's generational theft.

Folks, saying this gives people an excuse for delaying action, that the problems are 10, 20 or more years away. People, it ain't gonna take that long. We're facing these problems right now. Also, if the debt can't be paid back, it won't be paid back. Not gonna happen.

We have Obama's Deficit Commission being set up to recommend a VAT tax. Right now, the tax and spending burdens are such that we have 10-20% unemployment, depending how you want to define it. Increasing costs by the Federal Government on economic activity will just cause this unemployement rate to increase. Will States and Cities remain solvent on this basis?

The fit can hit the shan this year or next year. It ain't gonna take that long.

Passion for life is a beautiful thing. Even if you live to be 100, how does that compare for how long you are gonna be dead. Life. You only get one chance at it. The Crazy one is not only my flesh and blood as her sister is, the Crazy one also has a piece of my soul embedded into her DNA. I did some crazy things in my life and like my not so completely sane daughter, I bear the scars of the motorcycle wrecks, the knife fights, the shooting. I asked my daughter once if she did what she did because she wanted to die. Her answer was, "Are you kidding? I want to really, really live!

Pfft. Every fellow Boomer I know is monetarily contributing to this country and has been for decades. When younger they may have smoked pot a few times, but that’s as far as it went. They wised up in a hurry when reality hit.

It’s natural for one generation to fault the previous. I would love to be around to hear what disasters Gen 0 will be blamed for causing, though.

I wonder where she got that from??

Isn’t DNA amazing?

She’s lucky to have a dad who understands her-I wasn’t, but true to my “crazy-one” form, I plodded along anyway:

Passion is a wonderful trail-blazer!

I am not sure if it is just trolls that are impacting FR. There is a lot of finger pointing directed at whole lot of different groups as a way of saying they screwed up, and I am perfect. People are angry, people are scared, and we feel we have little control over “those” who have and are screwing up America. Who is to blame is not a important as what you said. We need to stick together if we are going to fix it. Label it as conservatism if you want. We also need to be prepared for the fix. It will impact all of us, not just “those” who caused the problems.
