Brown is, and always was, billed as a substantial improvement on Kennedy — not a down-the-line conservative. This vote is not surprising.
I found it curious that so many jumped on the “Brown for President” bandwagon so quickly.

The only reason to whole-heartedly support Brown was to poke a finger in the eye of the Kennedy “dynasty” in Mass. Otherwise, I fully expected him to be another Mass. Republican. I didn’t expect anything out of him like I would an Oklahoma Republican. And yeah, so many who started toying with the idea of him for President right away was ridiculous.
