I would not only LMAO, I would almost be willing to pay a year's salary to SarahPAC if she would start addressing the crowds ala McCain, "my frrrrrrrrrieeeeeends", with a hint of a wink, that damn phrase alone that McCain overuses is reason enough to bounce his ass on down to the local retirement home.

Sarah right now has got herself into two big problems concerning McCain:

1. Most of us really dislike McCain. Should McCain win his senate seat, Sarah will be perceived as culpable for his win.

2. If McCain should lose his senate seat, she will be perceived as having been weak.

I like Sarah, but I am very open to other possibilities. Right now she is not my first choice anymore.

It boggles my mind to see the strongest supporters of the ability and backbone of Sarah Palin unwittingly putting her DOWN by implying that without McCain selecting her as his running mate she would be a big nothing.

How is it that Governor Pawlenty and other names in the forefront for potential presidential nomination got into this position without being tapped as McNut's or anybody else's running mate in the past? Hmmmm?

It couldn't be that Gov. Pawlenty's ability, drive and conservative credentials brought him out of the nowhere-pack and took him into the presidential hopeful circle, could it? Did he need McCain or anyone else to do it?

Then, why isn't Sarah afforded this same acknowledgment and respect? Is she a no-talent woman who has only earned her way into the political major leagues because some no-talent senator raised her up and HE was the only way she escaped remaining "virtually unknown" forever?

Palin supporters should drop this mantra of her "owing" McCain because of their perception that HE single-handedly transformed her from sooty Cinderella to successful princess.

She doesn't "owe" McCain a damn thing. He owes HER for elevating him from the frog he is to a temporary prince during the presidential campaign.

You know SJB, there is another factor that I don't think has been considered by Sarah, or by those who support her, which is: IF Hayworth does unseat McCain as the GOP candidate for that Senate seat, despite Sarah's support for McCain, will that damage the perception of her vote getting ability? It's true that Hoffmann in New York didn't win despite Sarah's endorsement, but that was a House congressional race with mostly new faces, McCain is a Senatorial heavy-hitter, if he loses to Hayworth despite Sarah's support, I think it creates a whole new set of issues.

And IF Hayworth prevails in this primary challenge and McCain decides to emulate Joe Liebermann in Connecticut and run as an independent, will he be expecting Sarah to continue to support him AGAINST the GOP candidate? If she does, it will alienate the entire GOP base against her, be they conservative or be they RINO, if she doesn't, will she face charges of 'disloyalty' to McCain?

As many have said already (you being one of them), this is a lose-lose proposition. If I were advising Sarah, I would be telling her "find a reason to stay the Hell out of Arizona until after Labor Day, get sick, lose your voice, have a need for more family time, ANYthing!"

I thought of this, but you put it more eloquently. I believe nothing is beneath McCain He would do this if he percieved the the backlash against him would be tolerable.

If McCain wins it won’t be because of Palin. It’ll be because Hayworth either got bad advice as to his chances or he somehow dropped the ball during the campaign.

Palin knows this. McCain knows this. Hayworth knows this. In the meantime, her loyalty adds another dimension to a picture that is, already, nearly perfect.

This isn’t a babe with a vacuum between her ears. She’s as wise as she is good looking.

I brought this up a few weeks ago as well. McCain is just that spiteful to run as an independent or democrat.

In which case, I don't think Sarah would support him. She'd likely sit that race out. But if she did end up endorsing him as an independent/Dem, well, I just don't want to say. It would be NY-23 all over again. And she'd play the role of Newt this time.

Yes. And you would do it too. It's basic human behavior, and we shouldn't be making a big deal about it. She was an unknown governor until McCain put her in the spotlight.

Because of her new prominence, she is a voice to be reckoned with. One tweet from her discombonulates the entire Democrat establishment. That would not have been possible without McCain's selection of her.

So, yes, it is gratitude, and there's nothing wrong with it. I hope that Hayworth beats McCain the potential Dem vice president candidate big time, but it won't be Palin's fault if he doesn't.
