The 2nd ammendment was penned for a reason.
Because we're armed and if we ever get the will to kill, we'll kill 'em.
That's why "successful" dictators disarmed the populace.
Now I'll go read the article
Federal funding of local police forces has created de facto violation of Posse Comatadas. It is pure fantasy to believe that local Sheriffs departments and Police departments will in any way resist federal intrusion into state issues. They have to much money and to much cooperative culture with federal LE to do otherwise. The law enforcement infrastructure that conservative law and order types built to get the dam hippies will now be turned on them.
The only hope is a radical restructuring of Federal and State relations. Most people won’t want that. So we won’t get it.
All you'll get for telling the truth here is put on a "watch list" by some leftist organization. Welcome to the crowd.
I needed that pick me up. Thanks.
The MIAC report that was referenced but not linked:

What does your diary-reread indicate to you?
I don't know about the law enforcement people in your neck of the woods, but here they are my friends and neighbors. The police are already overworked and short of personnel anyway. Realistically, I don't see them shooting up the local gentry. In fact, they would mutiny first.
Also they know that we are liable to shoot back.
The country will undergo a political correction sharply to the right over the next few election cycles. There is a huge gap between where the average American stands and the radical leftists in control of the country. The public anger is across the board. The Tea Party and other movements are democracy in action.
Why is it that when the left marches and protests it’s “First Amendment rights” and “American democracy at it’s best” but when it’s from the right the MSM is scared?
Our Constitution is a federal system granting limited powers. America is rejecting the centralized/Soviet model.
Interesting that Obama campaigned on a platform of decentralized / facebook / twitter / new media approach to government and yet his governing style is old school centralized power.
Less government. Local control. Small businesses create jobs and not government.
Changes must come soon and drastic measures taken or we’re looking at a Soviet-style collapse of the superstate the U.S. has become.
“. Realistically, I don’t see them shooting up the local gentry. In fact, they would mutiny first. “
In rural areas, sure, totally agree, but in metro counties, forgetaboutit. They are bought and paid for.
(I'm not forgetting that the above mentioned 4% have rights and the rest of us wouldn't, under the new order)
That we are in times not seen since the Civil War, and that the forces we are facing will not give up without blood.
Well, it’s like the f2gs using squatters rights to incrustate themselves into people’s lives: one day they will be right at your door step demanding to pay them in taxes for the very instrument of torture and extortion they are currently building.
“So if 35% of the public started criminal activity against the government they have a lot of work to do.”
You betcha! At most there are 4 million people total under arms of the federal, state and local goverments including the military. That’s hardly enough to control 15+ million, maybe 50+ million, or even 100+ million. We are a peaceful nation because we want to be. Once we decide we no longer can live with the tyranny, there is no stopping us.
In a SHTF moment squad cars will become mobile weapon supply stores. They even put targets on the squad doors where the officers are sitting.
Now I’m not saying any conservatives here will regard them as that, but I am saying bad guys will.
I like it. The author hit most of the important points. Thanks for posting.
