Perhaps Democratic gubernatorial candidate Farouk Shami just wanted to steal the spotlight back from Debra Medina. If so, the hair care magnate who wants to be governor chose one heck of a way to get attention, outdoing Medina on the 9/11 front and throwing in some offensive comments about race for good measure.
Earlier today, Shami taped an interview that will air Sunday on WFAA's Inside Texas Politics. The first-time candidate talked about why he hires mostly Hispanics and blacks to work in his factories.
"I find 80 percent of my employees at the factory are Hispanics," Shami said. "I don't find, you know, many white people really willing to work, you know, unfortunately."..
..."Would we ever find the truth about 9/11? That's a very dangerous subject to get into," Shami said. "You know so it's hard to make judgment. I'm not saying yes or no, because I don't know the truth."

It’s somewhat disingenuous to claim that one race is unwilling to work, when one makes the policies of whom to hire. How do we know he doesn’t have preferences (and it’s okay with me if he does, it’s his investment)?
Freepmail me or ping me from the original thread to get on/off the 2010 Texas Governor's Race ping list.
With nuts on the left and nuts on the right, Perry looks better than ever.
He may not be perfect but at least he is not demonstrably psychotic.
And racist too!! wow
I don't believe for a minute that she was 'set up'- but what if she was? At least we got a deal-breaker bit of info that could save us from disaster. Putting up 'truther' Medina against the Democratic candidate would be suicide.
That's not the question I heard, Medina said. She said she thought he was asking about whether citizens should question their government. SAY WHAT?? How plain did Beck have to make it? It was a simple question; do you or do you not believe our government was responsible for 9/11?? All she had to do- as any rational, sane person would do- is answer a simple 'no'.
This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you cant answer did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks? you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.
For God's sake, have any of you really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?
She wants legalized drugs.
She backs gay marriage.
She is for abortion
She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!
http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609 What does this say about this woman's character? And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.
Take a look at some of the statements she has made: "Its a shame isnt it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?
"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?
"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.
"I believe we too often get into race when its immaterial. (Obummer, is that you?)
I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border! La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!
Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.
Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. Shes a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time. Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.
Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Senora Medina. You're Texas toast.
Say, that’s a nice graphic! Where did you find it? ;-)
He’s said from the beginning he was going to give those what, 5000 jobs, in his company to illegals. A couple days ago he said, “a day without Mexicans is a day without sunshine.” Just doing the jobs gringos won’t.
Farouk Shami and Bill White are the very best the Dems can come up with in Texas??? And just think, if there is by some blind chance of political evolution, that Shami should beat White in the primary, this fruitcake is guanteed at leat 40-46% of the general election vote in Texas by that chromatic sub-voting bloc known to us as the Democrat.
Well, that answers my question right well. Thank you.
It’s available many places on the net.
I was being sarcastic.
I made it.
Yeah, and Perry, Hutchison and Medina are the best Repubs can do.
The Weasels vs. The Kooks
Texas politics as usual.
LOL
“Yeah, and Perry, Hutchison and Medina are the best Repubs can do.
The Weasels vs. The Kooks”
There is always Kinky.

LOL..............
My nomination for post of the day! Unfortunately, their are some folks who take the stance, “don’t confuse me with facts, I’ve already made up my mind!”
Who knows how many times it has been re-hosted (as is the case on this thread) and seen.
That's.. gratifying!
