Less snow = global warming.
More snow = global warming?
Well, that is the argument coming out of the left wing intelligensia this week, as the east coast has suffered its harshest blizzard in memory.
Last week, I had a post questioning why we should trust anyone that calls themselves an expert on global warming. After the scandals at East Anglia University, the United Nations and IPCC, and in measuring Himalayan glaciers, it is no wonder that the average world citizen is more skeptical of any claims about global warming.
But this?
It was just a few short years ago when we heard the left argue that less snow across the country was absolute, undeniable proof of anthropogenic global warming. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., thought to be one of the 'leading thinkers' of the movement, famously said this just about a year ago:

They’re the elite. They are smart.
We’re the common people. We’re stupid.
We have been ordered to believe everything they say.
These are the 'shovel-ready' jobs that we voted for.
Another promise kept by the greatest President.
In your face Republicans!!
THEREFORE..., its also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply one video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the one...
The following is an excellent video documentary on the so-called Global Warming I would recommend it to all FReepers. Its a very well-made documentary.
The Great Global Warming Swindle
If you want to download it, via a BitTorrent site (using a BitTorrent client), you can get it at the following link. Information about BitTorrent protocol and BitTorrent clients and their comparison at these three links (in this sentence). Some additional BitTorrent information here and here.
Download it here...

[This is a high-quality copy, of about a gigabyte in size. This link is the information about it, and you have to click the download link to get it on your BitTorrent client software. You'll also find users' comments here, too.]
Its worth seeing and having for relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see.
Also, see it online here...

[this one is considerably lower quality, is a flash video and viewable online, of course..., and also, you can download flash video on a website either yourself or some software doing it.]
Buy it on DVD here...
[this would be the very highest quality version, on a DVD disk, of several gigabytes in size...] At Amazon, it seems to be high-priced now and have only a few copies right now.

At WAGtv (a UK shop), but don't know about shipping. The price is reasonable, though.

The whole issue on global warming was based on the false premise that global warming was a bad thing. The earth has always prospered when warming takes place. Our real concern should be the world entering into another ice age.
You can trust that they are: 1) a crook, or 2) a spouse of a crook, or 3) a child of a crook, or 4) a parent of a crook, or 5) like Algore, just plain stupid, or 6) went to PSU and a) drank too much koolaid, b) got hit by Mann's hockey stick, c) took the Soros PSU donations, d) joined the envirowacko club to meet the PSU chicks (all 6 of them).
Excellent comment!
1) Is there Global warming?
2) If there is, is it a bad thing?
3) If not, great! If it is a bad thing, can it be stopped by man’s activity?
4) If not, learn to live with it.
My understanding of the science is this:
Answer to Question #1 - Probably not outside the normal fluctuations of the last 10,000 years.
Q#2 - Having lived in both cold and hot climates, believe me, warmer is better, especially for growing food.
Q#3 - The contribution of anthropogenic (man-made) CO2 toward the Greenhouse Effect is minuscule. Therefore, curtailing anyone’s “Carbon Footprint” is asinine. Launching into space fleets of millions of reflectors to decrease solar warming, or injecting tons of SO2 into the upper atmosphere to increase clouds and the earth’s albedo (reflectance of sunlight) are likewise ridiculous ideas. Etc, etc, etc.
Q#4 - Right now, here in Hickory, NC we have snow on the ground. We’ve had some snow in shady spots on the ground since the week before Christmas. I just may be able to learn to live with warmer weather. I will try, I will really, really try.... :-)
Right now, here in Hickory, NC we have snow on the ground.
Ummmm..., I think that's why they call this time of year, "Winter" ... :-)
The idiocy of the whole argument can be substantiated by the inclusion of CO2 as a pollutant when we have to have it and the fact that they were actually going to tax bovine flatulence. Global warming was never anything other than professors wanting grant money, politicians wanting more tax money and the huge transfer of wealth from producing countries to non-producing countries.
Of course, back in my younger days, the snow was 3 feet deep when we used to walk to school, uphill, both ways...barefoot...
Before the recent intensification of Global Warming, snow would usually be gone within a week of the storm ending. It is unusual to have had this many snow storms, this early and for the sn0w to have remained this long. Our heaviest snows are usually in late winter, early spring.
All you're talking about is normal variations in the course off the climate over decades and centuries. It's not that big of a deal.
Sure, if you haven't seen it like this for the last 20 or 30 years, it seems like a big deal, but not in the "big picture" it's not.
And there has been "Global Warming" over the last number of decades, but that's also very normal (over the course of the history of the earth's climate). This seems strange to you now, because you have been living in a temporary warming period in which that wasn't happening. And recently the climate has taken a turn for the colder side of things. Global Warming and Global cooling is a normal process, but there's nothing normal or scientific about "Anthropogenic Global Warming" -- which is actually a political movement and not a scientific endeavor.
I remember a lot colder weather about 40 years ago, than right now, even though, right now, we've got colder weather than we've had in the last 20 years... :-)
This is not out of the realm of normal weather for the last many decades and/or centuries around here. Take a look at the weather data for the Dallas area, where a big snowstorm just rolled through...

The record fell at 6:57 p.m. with it still snowing and the winter storm warning extended until 6 a.m. Friday. While the official record is measured at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, many local cities saw just as much or more.
Greatest snowfall in one calendar day
