Yes, all the prolife stuff is correct, certainly black women and men should be informed of the tactics against them, and also encouraged to be responsible parents — but “endangered species”? Come on. As long as we have the current welfare system, black babies will be born in abundance. This is NOT a racist statement. Here on FR just a few weeks ago was an article about a black high school in Chicago where 167 of the girls are pregnant. A H.S. Counselor interviewed admitted that “benefits” were one motivation for girls purposely (not accidentally) getting pregnant. None of them planned to abort it seemed.
A friend of mine works in a unionized job where many employees are black. Several of the women when they want a vacation, pick up a strange guy at a bar and get pregnant, then they get disability while expecting, maternity leave after, then they dump the baby on Granny (their own mother who is usually only in her 50’s), and come back to work, with a higher income due to child support payments.
There are 2 cases I personally know where after verifying they were ovulating with one of those kits, the ladies picked up a guy, went to his place for a one night stand, while he was in the bathroom, got all pertinent info out of his wallet, and when 6 weeks later she was confirmed pregnant, went immediately to court to file for child support, and this guy got a big surprise; he didn’t even know her last name!
Now maybe there are white people acting that way too...I don’t know...surely whites are just as promiscuous as any other race, but I don’t know if they would use a baby as a tool like that. Of course most blacks would never do that either! But we have to be honest there is a segment, and addressing that mentality is not racist, it’s part of solving the problem. I never would have believed any of this had I not seen it with my own eyes.
The billboards would be more factual to ask “Endangered?” rather than assert it, because it still isn’t true given overall birth and survival rates in spite of the grim reapers of abortion and street crime.
But it can’t be both ways: either black women are more likely to have abortions or they are more likely to have babies (in your telling, so they can suck more money out of the benefits / child support system). This item (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,348649,00.html) from Fox from a few years ago seems to make it clear that in fact black women are disproportionately more likely to abort than other races:
Whites: 78% of live births, 58% of abortions
Non-Black minorities: 7% live births, 5% abortions
Blacks: 17% live births and 36% abortions
Which surprises me, as I always assumed that the story of the poor ghetto girl who got pregnant but couldn’t afford to have a child was a story told by white women who just find it inconvenient to have a child and want to support abortion.
Still this brings up a point: why are these black women having abortions? Dads all locked up? No health care? No preschool / maternity leave / child care deductions?
