My point was, just because the left hijacks an issue doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. In the past and present, governments around the globe, have been known to carry out atrocities against their citizens. Why would the United States be immune to evil?

The US is not immune to evil. But there is no credible evidence that the US purposefully had anything to do with 9/11.
If your argument is that the government could have done things to prevent it, that’s not “truther”, that’s just the truth, but is beside the point.
If you truly believe that the government, any part of the government, was part of a plot to help muslims hijack planes and kill thousands of Americans, and you further believe that Bush administration covered this up, you need to present evidence that doesn’t exist.
It certainly isn’t rational to believe — 9/11 is one of the most highly investigated events of my lifetime, so you’d need a gargantuan conspiracy to cover up government involvement.
