We all know liberal condescension. "Why are Americans so anti-intellectual?" your liberal friend might ask. But Gerard Alexander has written about it -- in the Washington Post. "Why are liberals so condescending?" he asks. Why indeed?
Your average liberal exhibits four kinds of condescension, according to Alexander. There's the notion that conservatives win elections and policy debates not because of the power of ideas, but "because they deploy brilliant and sinister campaign tactics." Obviously this leads into the second notion that "if conservative leaders are crass manipulators, then the rank-and-file Americans who support them must be manipulated at best, or stupid at worst." This idea has won Thomas Frank, author of What's the Matter with Kansas?, a weekly column at The Wall Street Journal.

The Liberals love looking down their noses so they can see their finger pointed at themself.
“...your liberal friend might ask.”
Does one whom is NOT Liberal have Liberal “friends”?
IMO I would never be able to associate with a Liberal for very long much less call one of them a “friend”.
Liberals have arrogantly become what they claim they are not. They are RACISTS. They are GREEDY. They are poverity pimps. They keep people DOWN. They are control FREAKS. They are NARCISSITIC. They are HEARTLESS. They are totally EVIL - especially when it comes to their brand of “compassion” - abortion any time for any reason.
He’s right, the liberals are condescending. Often, so are we. A difference is that we’ve been exposed to their ideas and the full expression of them from the moment we’ve turned on our TV’s or attended a school. They are, in general, ignorant of conservative thought. Another difference is that the fullest expression of our ideals in history have led to prosperous and forward moving societies, while the fullest expression of their ideals have led to a nightmare. Compare the USA and Great Britain at their heights to China and the Soviet Union under the sway of total socialism.
It’s the parochialism and ignorance combined with the condesenscion that really bugs me! The author got it exactly right when he analogized to the “the favored son” driving his family business into the ground while blaming cheating competitors and ignorant consumers . . .
Good read.
Glad you liked the post
Examine any and all collectives. Defund/deconstruct any and all that are anti-individual, anti-life.
Good article by Christopher Chantrill. Thanks for posting.
You need to be educated. Obama didnt do a good enough job explaining why you are wrong.
