I also was prominent in the Tea Party movement in my state, any attention to me would have brought serious attention to them if I spoke up.
If I became a national figure for saying something, the entire tea party movement would have been attached to it, moreso than they are now.

You thought that Obama's COLB was a fake within 15 minutes of seeing it. You've been spreading rumors about Obama being born in Kenya for a year and a half. You were telling people here at FR that Obama was born in Mombasa even before the 2008 election.
And yet you want people to believe that for the last year and half, during all that time that you yourself were saying that Obama was not born in Hawaii, that you secretly remembered a private conversation that you had with a teenage Obama? Wherein he 1) said he grew up in Indonesia, 2) said his mother was an American citizen, 3) said he was born in Mombasa, 4) provided you some reason to think he was "mulatto" (rather than simply black), *AND* 5) said he wanted to be President?
And that while you spent a year asking other people to believe Obama was born in Mombasa, you never thought to mention that he had personally told you that he was born in Mombasa?

I see. You wrote this for a college class, yet ended it with "Does it matter? Of course it does. It should not have to be explained as to why it matters." That sounds suspiciously how someone would end a persuasive piece aimed at people familiar with Birtherism, not how to end a college essay.

One of those personal friends being Alan Peters, who was actually the first person to post it online. You were personally sending him Birther rumors about the discredited 'TechDude' in July 2008.
Nothing says "This story is credible" like having it premiere on the website of someone who has a history of posting credulous Birther rumors, who has even started some himself, and to whom you have previously sent bad Birther intel.

Your Tea Party organization, like all state Tea Party movements, didn't come into existence until early 2009. You were posting here at FR that Obama was born in Kenya and in Mombasa *months* before that. You were preaching the Birther gospel even before Obama was elected, so you can't fall back on the Tea Party as an excuse for your inexplicable year-long silence.
Then again, maybe your memory is accurate, and teenage Obama just made the horribly unfortunate mistake of taking his greatest personal secret, one that his family had gone to great lengths to defraud the Hawaiian government over, and disclosing it to someone who just happened to become a huge Birther thirty years later.
