I dare say everyone tea-party related should be vigilant to make sure that profiteers don’t step in to co-opt events or funds at any time going forward.
I do agree the for-profit sponsor is problematic, but I also believe the House Ethics whomever thus questioned the appropriateness of Bachmann speaking there.
This convention is for Tea Party Nation, apart from the TP Movement. By Google search, you can find that it is in fact owned by one Judson Phillips (& wife), a conservative businessman. There seem to be conflicting reports that show either he was deeply in debt & saw a way to raise some big money OR an individual merely seeking to gain control of the movement.
Another who bears watching is Dick Armey, for so long pro-illegal immigration, now backtracking on it and trying to divide people within the TP movement.

As a U.S. citizen, I have never really lived in my country for any length of time. Therefore, I sometimes get things wrong. I try not to get things wrong, but sometimes it happens in spite I do my homework. The homework just dosn’t seem to work all the time.

My reference to “mango tree lawyer” is to Greg Craig when that mango tree lawyer sent little Elian Gonzales back to Cuba. That was an awful day for me and certainly for many of us...not to mention his family in Florida.
