"It's the economy, stupid." Or is it?
We know this shopworn cliché is true because none other than Mr. Health Care Reform himself, Barack Obama, made the economy the featured item in his State of the Union address. But then, saying the economy is front and center to Mr. Obama misstates his real intent, which has everything to do with advancing statism's frontiers and ransacking the bag of cheap tricks that Democrats resort to when sinking in the polls. That bag of tricks is called demagoguery. But will it work this time? No, and for good reasons.
Mr. Obama is after big banks and investment firms. He plans to slap them upside the head and whittle them down to size, all to the frenzied applause of blood-lusting voters. Or so he hopes.

People want jobs. They are sick of these “saved” jobs. They can see stores closings. Houses for sale signs. They can’t see Our Dear Leader’s saved jobs.
If you study History from PRE 1970’s History books, you will be proven beyond DOubt that FUHRER OBAMA’s BS will FAIL. It’s failed every time it was tried.
It always amazes me how the DEMOCRAP Party is always shocked when their Favored 3rd world Dictatorship or Banana REPUBLIC.. get’s OUTVOTED or otherwise Take over by REAL DEMOCRACY!!
He is not bashing banks, he is bashing any business which is not government controlled. Banks are merely one aspect of the move to government control over our economy.
As much as we conservatives detested Hussein’s SOTU speech, the first two polls to come out - CBS and CNN - showed 83% and 78% approval, respectively. Of course, Obama haters probably didn’t watch the speech but the numbers are still disturbingly high.
Not to rain on anybody’s parade or ruin anybody’s morning but the fact is that close to half the country DOES buy the BS and that is enough support to convince Hussein to keep pushing ahead with his sicko socialist agenda.
Those polls jive with the existing contradiction shown in other polls that consistently show that people hate Zero’s policies but the “love” Zero.
Makes no sense, right? UNLESS...it’s the fact that, even though poll responders are told they will not be identified, they feel reluctant to say bad things about the black guy for fear of being labeled racist...a fear so compelling due to social pressures that it overcomes the presumed blanket of protection afforded by anonymity. An extended version of “white guilt” if you will.
As Zero’s blatant lies made during the SOTU speech continue to be brought to light rest assured his “approval index” will continue to tank.
I think it’s a temporary bump also but I fear that he will be a more difficult target now that he is playing the raw political game of telling the people what they want to hear about “gridlock,” obstructionism, “fat cats,” lobbyists, and all the rest of the lying crap that he spews while he does underhanded things to enact his radical agenda.
He will be exposed for his lies, as articles about him accepting foreign campaign money and bringing lobbyists into the White House are doing, but I think he is going to start relying on “Slick Willie” type tactics more and more.
Hussein may regard Clinton as a mediocrity but he managed to get re-elected and that surely matters to Obama more than anything.
It was probably 98% in the black community but so what?
If you only poll one group of folks, you'll get the results that you want.
Of the conservatives that watched it {I was not one} they were probably 100% against it.
“so what?”
We’ll find out what the “what” is over the next few days in the Rasmussens.
I sincerely hope you’re right but I think Zer0 has won himself some points with that pile of crap.
Keeping them will be another story...and I don’t think he’s up to that.
I was pointing out a troubling fact that shouldn’t be blown off.
I notice some overconfidence here since the Brown election. We have to avoid that. The president- even an ignorant, illegitimate one like Hussein, has all kinds of resources that he can throw at a political problem. The Democrats have held billions of stimulus money in reserve for vote buying purposes later this year.
All I’m saying is to get ready for a fight. Very few voters are as insightful as FReepers. Some can be bought, some swallow slick rhetoric hook, line, and sinker. Cleaning out congress this fall is going to be a very tough challenge.
Today’s Rasmussen poll:
-17 and -5.
Holding strong for our side.
I’m being proven wrong so far, which is a very good thing and doesn’t upset me in the least!
yeah, it's a good sign.
BTW, those polls that rated the one very high were to be expected, given the sampling group.
How many conservatives could stomach watching osamaobama preen, and bitch and moan, with biden and peeloser gushing over his shoulder.
We lost the last Presidential election, not our minds.
What’s the -5?
Overall disapprove vs approve (52-47). Likely voters.
