This doesn't make sense. The purpose of passing the Senate bill is to avoid reconcilliation, which requires a vote on the compromise bill. If the House passes the exact Senate bill there is nothing to compromise on, thus no need to have another vote in the Senate. The bill goes immediately to the President for his signature.

So there is NO opportunity to "fix" the bill in the reconcilliation process.

If the House passess the Senate's version it becomes law when signed. The only way to fix it would be for the Senate & House to pass a completely new bill. Of course the Senate bill (I believe) still contains the absurd and UnConstitutional language that forbids parts of it ever being mondified by a future Congress. So there might be litigation and court cases before it can be modified.

The Dems might be able to do this, but do they really want to slit their own throats like this? The latest polling is 65% of Americans opposed to the bill.

I suspect it's brave talk by a back bencher. There is a big difference between cloak room nose counts and real votes. A lot of the House know their seats are up for grabs already.

We'll see shortly.

One great thing: Obama did not have his great triumphant first year success! He had to give that dumbed down list of accomplishments in the SOU. That was nice to see.

If she doses then vote. Which Bill does she have? Do it, Nancy. If by June recess the house will go home and not work like last year. Their is an election this November. These Town Halls will be for real.

I wouldn't put much stock in this passing comment. What the Back Bencher is not telling you is that the reconciliation process can add back in all the crap. It can't, so that whole conversation was a non-starter. Harry can't guarantee anything and that's why they are stuck. The fact is she has 100 solid votes, period. Don't listen to this Donkey's lying ass.

It's dead Jim

Notice that this was not Pelosi saying this on camera. It was simply Harwood claiming he spoke with Pelosi, and claiming she said they had the votes. Also, Harwood is the only one claiming Pelosi said this.

It’s a crock of sh!t. Don’t know what Harwood’s game is, but I doubt Pelosi actually said this to him.

Obamacare is dead. Pelosi might have a 100 votes, and remember, 60 of these are hard-core card-carrying American Socialists.

The rest wish to have some tiny chance at being re-elected. The same holds true in the Senate. Scott Brown’s election to replace Ted Kennedy in blue, blue Massachusetts was a wake-up call for the Dims akin to getting doused with a five gallon bucket of ice water and smacked with a two by four at the same time.

Ah, but the socialists want a public option. They may not be so amenable to the Senate bill.
