Did you say bomb?
Get people hyped about your candidate pick a date to have many people give money then brag about it. Other people will see this and think you have momentum and are a better candidate and will also want to give. It’s just like old school fund raising just publicly announced and coordinated at a certain day. Ron Paul started it with the anniversary of Guy Fawks Day as a way to send a message. Pick a notable date and spread the word is all you need to do.
The key really is organization and communication. All a money bomb is, really, is just a day that everyone donates at once and gets others to donate hoping that the amount raised in such a short time gets media attention.
First, decide on the candidate and date.
Next, define your communication methods- it may be good to buy a website. Also create meetup groups, twitter accounts, facebook accounts, etc.
Third, begin recruiting early adopters using said methods above. Create a strategy for those adopters to take the message out. This will involve strategies such as media lists, blog comments, forums, etc.
Fourth, start submitting press releases to media groups.
Next, as the time gets close to the money bomb, start kicking up the recruiting and communication methods.
On the day of the bomb, go crazy with your communication modes.
I believe the real key is early planning and set up. I don’t believe, for example, it would be affective to decide to do one today for next week- but a month from now would be practical.
Essentially a publicity gimmick. It worked for Scott Brown as it helped to nationalize a Massachusetts election.

This could be the start of some grass roots ‘how to’ threads. Good idea.
What candidate were you thinking of?
