The word is that during his State of the Union Address the POTUS will announce a three year spending free on non essential discretionary spending (about 25 billion in savings out of a trillion dollar plus budget/a year).

It brings up the question, if he is so gung-ho about freezing spending why did he wait a whole year to do it? Forget about freezing, why did he increase spending by so much?

Another question is why did he fight against a freeze so hard? The video below shows the POTUS attacking John McCain during the campaign over, and over regarding McCain's proposal for a spending freeze.

So, after QUADRUPLING the national debt he wants me to believe that he’s a big fan of fiscal prudency?

That dog won’t hunt.

The ONLY spending Freeze President Obama will authorize and approve is military spending.

We saw this before with President Clinton and James Earl Carter.

At the very least, it is an admission that his huge spending increases have hurt rather than helped.

As usual, the minuscule amount of the “freeze” is an insult to a thinking public.

Sybolism over substance because he think we are that stupid. Unfortunately, many may be that stupid.

I do not think he is fooling anyone as he has spent more than all of the past Presidents combined.

This is so confusing. Just a little while ago we were being told that massive government spending was good for us. They called it a “stimulus”. No apparently government spending is a problem. If they would at least admit that the stimulus, so-called, was a mistake then this would make sense.

Freezing “discretionary” spending.

Guess who gets to decide what is “discretionary” and what is not?

He’s only freezing NASA’s budget? or something like that?

How does that solve anything?

The new Demonrat mantra! Woof, woof, let granny eat dog food...spoof on 'let them eat cake'. obama's war on seniors See the links in post 43-46 and on the last page.

Expanding support for families balancing work with caring for elderly relatives with a $102.5 million Caregiver Initiative adding $52.5 million in funding to Department of Health and Human Services caregiver support programs that provide temporary respite care, counseling, training, and referrals to critical services. The administration says the extra funding will allow nearly 200,000 additional caregivers to be served and 3 million more hours of respite care to be provided. It also adds $50 million to programs that provide transportation help, adult day care, and in-home services, such as aides to help seniors bathe and cook, help which eases the burden for family members and helps seniors stay in their homes.

Wait a minute, it’s my understanding that we have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt. So what’s all this talk about a spending freeze?

I had a wonderful dream last night, President Barack Obama in his State of the Union Address, looked at the crowd..not the teleprompter and tell us that Allah had spoken to him, and he was going to save America, taking a 50% cut in his salary, that Michelle was going to dismiss 3/4 of her court and staff, and that he was calling upon Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, and Al Franken to cut their salaries...I woke up so happy, I almost can’t wait til November to vote for them.
