Are you aware that during the 1980s, McCain took bribes and kickbacks from Charles Keating, whose Savings and Loan was later bailed out by the U.S. taxpayer?
Of course not.
The reason we don't know that it because it isn't true. McCain sat in a meeting with Keating. That's it. That's all he did.
***BZZZZZT*** wrong answer McCainiac.
Between 1982 and 1987, McCain received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating. Cindy McCain and her father invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center known as 'Fountain Square' In the Spring of '86, a YEAR before McStain had that 'meeting' you refer to with regulators, McCain, family members plus their baby-sitter enjoyed NINE vacation trips paid for by Keating, making use of his private jet. Three of those trips were made to Keating's plush resort property in Cat Cay in the Bahamas. McCain never paid a dime for those trips until years later when he found out that Keating was in deep doo-doo over Lincoln Savings & Loan.
Now you were saying...?

And if any of those allegations were criminal acts he’d be in prison.

The founder of Lincoln Savings & Loan, Ruben Urcis(UDC Corp.) was a long time client of mine
He sold the thrift to Keating. I had lunch with him in the early 1990’s and we discussed the fact that McCain used Keating’s jet like it was his own ;-)
