A month ago, I asked you directly after listing the exact citation of how this was not defined as a “windfall profits tax”. You continued to evade and never did answer the question. Should I go back and resurrect the thread?

BTW.... A graduated incremental tax based on increased profits IS a windfalls profit tax. I don't care how you spin it. The impact to business is still negatively the same.

Yes, feel free, and when you do, include the links I went to the trouble to post there to the blogs where informed folks at the time discussed pros and cons in heated but often very thoughtful posts. They were very revealing, and it became obvious that anti-Palin folks on the left and on the right were manipulating an extremely complex issue dealing with state laws unique to Alaska and its status as a MAJOR oil producing resource to falsely portray the changes Palin made regarding deals between the State of Alaska and oil companies drilling on state-owned land as a "windfall profits tax." The oil companies squealed bloody murder and because they were screaming against a controversial republican, liberal MSM sources like the incomplete and one-sided Seattle Times (the ONLY article that you linked on that thread, if I remember correctly) were very happy to enable the demonization and deceit.

My response on FR on the thread you threaten to resurrect was the same as it is now: to ask lurkers and FReepers to do their own due diligence and not take YOUR or MY word for it. It is a complicated and convoluted issue which you deceitfully attempt to simplify by falsely labeling it with scary communist-sounding buzzword terminology "windfall profits tax." I would have cut-and-pasted from blog posts I LINKED FOR ALL TO EASILY ACCESS on the thread, which addressed and refuted your arguments years before you posted them here on FR, but to cut-and-paste verbatim would be in violation of ethics and would probably get JimRob in trouble. I'm not going to spend the hours it would take to absorb, analyze, and summarize their informed posts to oblige you; instead, I urged then and urge now any FReepers and lurkers who wonder whether you are telling the truth or not to go investigate for themselves.
