"I would think anyone could figure out why Sarah Palin is speaking at a few McCain fundraisers. Lets read your best shot at it." Maybe the word "obligation" or "I owe ya" comes to mind?
Or just maybe Palin is savvy enough to be setting the stage to coalesce the spectrum of (R)'s?

I believe Sarah is trying to build a coalition like Reagan did in order to successfully win the 2012 nomination and election. If it takes reelecting McCain to have Sarah as president, I’m all for it.

(John McCain is good enough for Sarah so he's good enough for me. McCain 2010 / Palin 2012)

Sorry, but I don't believe so. Maybe sidling up to the party machine. Maybe she's being promised funding/support for a 2012 run in return? Teddy Roosevelt did something very similar running for his first term. That would actually make some sense.
No possible outcome in the near term but fracturing the conservative base (again). The dems couldn't have planned it better, themselves.
This was an eye-opener. Sarah has been something of an empty vessel and has not taken clear positions on a number of important issues. She'll get the same scrutiny as any other politician or talking head from here on out - from me anyways.
