people are stupid if they don't understand that. if anything Palin will make Mccain more conservative. so give Sarah a free pass on her support of him. it's really not that big a deal.
Very different. We put so much hope on Sarah to save the country. In Mass, anyone was going to be better that coakley anyway and now they have 59 seats. That was very important. But McCain is NOT AT ALL important anymore. Here is other guys/gals there who can do the same job at worse, or much better. Completely different situation. Sarah, we see her as the president and hopefully the one who can save the country. Probably we put too much of hope on her back but I have no one else I can put my hopes on right now.
The best example - and you will all scream at me - is Obama paying back the unions and all. Granted, the one has no principles. We all know that. But if Sarah is president and pays back the same way...well, sorry but I have a major problem with that.
Deep sixing one's chances indicates more than a lack of interest.

You would vote for a liberal Republican sometimes (I would too, BTW)?
Sometimes you would remain loyal and grateful too, to others that have helped you?
It is the same thing. Special circumstances, one is winning and the other is loyalty, is all.
McCain is not important to you or me or maybe even Palin, BUT loyalty isn’t something you change your mind about, it is part of your character.
Well I guess we could go round and round, but I’d guess that if she didn’t show loyalty, she would be worse off, especially in a general election. People do not like disloyalty.
If she went as far actually endorsed a competitor to Mccain, she could kiss any chance of winning the nomination goodbye too.
It’d be relatively easy to beg off during the AZ primary. Previous schedules, staff trashing, etc.
Again, I appreciate loyalty - but please think a minute. We are talking payback. If you payback someone who is not going to be good for the America we love and try to save, then I don’t agree. We are not talking private relationship here to be nice to a good friend, we are talking about a lady who is supposed to be the best outthere - because of her principles - conservative principles - to SAVE AMERICA. This is a bit bigger than be loyal to a friend or something. Obama is loyal to the union who help him to be elected. Do you think that’s OK ???
I must be very bizarre...she DID NOT HAVE to campaign for him. She could have been very nice, like she is anyway everytime she talks about him. Nobody would have been upset if she did not campaign for him. So she will also have to campaign for Liebermann because he was always very nice with her? Where does it end? She needs to be string to lead the country. Period. Not be traitor at all but just follow her principles.
Of course she should never endorse McCain’s competitor - of course - that would be insulting and she would never do that anyway but like it was said above, it would have been so easy for her to find a busy schedule excuse etc...or actually no excuse at all - just NOT talk about it. Period.
That is not personal loyalty, that is political debt. you make decisions about whether you want to keep that support or not. Of course, if you made promises, you would be pretty miserable not too keep them, and stupid to have made them in the first place.
Loyalty and gratitude in this case is a personal one. And that is based on character, not politics.

I’m not talking about being nice!
Not supporting McCain would be very evident ... busy schedule, yeah?
Once again, people do not like disloyalty or ingratitude. Everyone here agrees that if it wasn’t for McCain we wouldn’t have Palin. And everybody everywhere understands that, and would be aware of any slight.
Well, I guess I must be a bad person then. The role of Sarah is so enormous with the hope we put on her shoulders, and we do that because she swowed us conservatives principles that we agree with - I am sorry that I have to compare again with Obama...so Obama is a good trustworthy person because he SURELY proved a lot of loyalty to all the people and sordid organizations that helped him get elected. Again, I have a problem with that. Either Sarah will be president and she is supposed to be the one who is able to fire even republicans who are NOT following conservatives principles - what she did in Alaska, or she shows loyalty to a RINO and she loses this conservative side that we love with her. Tough choice I agree, but our country is what we are fighting for. If she goes to the WH with the RINOS who will deal with the democrats, just because she owes them something, then I don’t agree. Where does it end? We are back in the same them of payback - not strong principles to save the country.

Save america? Exactly. That is what I am saying. McCain is neither here nor there in the future. but Palin could be important. Why come acros as disloyal and ungrateful and potentially lose the support you need to .... make a difference in the grander scheme of things.
I also think that many people support her because of her character, not just her political principles. That could cause some hiccups, but ultimately, isn’t that the best when you are almost a perfect conservative (or as close to as you can be and still be a potential nominee)?
She has strong principles and she has an admirable character.
in fact in gher case, you cannot seperate the two. Isn’t that what we like about her? That is why she is a happy warrior - an alignmebnt of principles, character and a life lived according to them.
Well, ok then. Let’s see how it goes. God know I want her to save the country and be our next president, but sometimes I feel we are putting so much hope on her. Scary. I am so afraid for my (was not born here) country America that I love so much. I am so afraid...I want to make sure that we don’t make the same mistake over and over again...we are so far gone.
Ok, time for bed anyway. Goodnight, and I hope you change your mind - the repubs will try to put up a RINO, we need to stick together.
I don’t like the McCain thing either, but it was clear to me a long time ago that Palin would support him. It took me some time to get my head around it, too.
