What he’s really saying is, if Brown wins and stops Obamacare, then more Dems in high-risk elections stand a chance of keeping there seats.

Don’t be fooled into thinking Brit Hume is not a member of the media elite.

Your comment is very refreshing.

I used to be a huge fan of Brit and loved the way he handily brought up facts and arguments needed to balance the panel discussions on Fox News Sunday. Sure, he frustrated me often enough by not making points I thought were obvious to broaden and challenge the panel's perspective on certain topics, but I attributed it to "nobody's perfect."

Then the Republican primaries happened and I watched with heartbroken disgust as Brit Hume contorted himself every way possible to avoid even mentioning Fred Thompson's name except when absolutly necessary. Even when Thompson's votes outnumbered Huckabee and Romney votes (which happened in a few of the states, if I recall correctly), Hume gave it barely a brief mention -- clearly he was determined that the Rudy McRombee template was the only one he'd acknowledge.

Had he been an honest journalist, one really committed to the admirable "We report, you decide" ethic, he would have covered a REAL story: that in a fraction of the time, with a fraction of the budget, of all the other candidates including mega-bucks Romney, Thompson had risen remarkably within the margin of error of the three leading candidates and as I say, in some of the states' primaries, equalled or beat them. Nary a PEEP from Hume that it had even happened, let alone that it was a remarkable accomplishment.

He revealed himself then for the phony that he is. He is most certainly a member of the media elite whose ethic is: "We report just the things that will lead you to the conclusion ... er, 'decision' ... that we want you make."

I realized then that Brit Hume wasn't worth listening to any more than any other talking head in the news media. And he STILL isn't.
