The brain is a wonderful thing. Consider the missing genetics as damage. Careful training can cause the brain to effectively route around damaged parts and use other parts of the brain for that task.

Consider a liberal going conservative like a stroke victim learning to write.

There are several ways to account for it. The primary reason is maturity.

Almost all Conservatives have a decided advantage over almost all Liberals because almost all Conservatives were Liberal in their youth before they matured and discovered they were far better at managing their own thoughts than the Democrats.
