Politico clearly hates Sarah. I don’t think I have ever read a story they did — whether by Ben Smith, Ken Vogel, or Andy — on Sarah that did not distort the facts and smear her name. They need to get hold of themselves. They are going to destroy their own credibility if they keep it up.

If she didn’t say it, she should have. Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, just as he was behind the 1993 WTC bombing and pretty much every other terrorist attack in the 1990s.

You know how you know it’s true? Say it within earshot of a leftist and watch them go bat guano.

This is a test. If you can’t read what she said and realize the headline is BS, then you’re probably one of the 15% liberal kooks who will never give Sarah Palin credit for anything.

Remember as Gov. of Alaska at one time she had an 80% approval rating. That’s not a bad number to shoot for.

Why do we care what left-wing moonbats say, write, or think? We know what they are and we’ll never change them.

If the left holds true to form other news outlets will repeat the story citing Politico and then each other as their source.

Why should anyone be surprised by this? Aren’t most of them ex-WashPost writers?

I’m not surprised there are still libs out there that believe the entire valerie plame joe wilson BS about no yellowcake, but then there are the facts:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25546334/

AP updated 6:57 p.m. ET, Sat., July 5, 2008

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of “yellowcake” — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.

Gov. Palin:

Did not comment on a growing problem with people kicking midgets in the shin. She must agree with it.

Blah Blah Blah Blah Hitler Blah Blah Blah Blah Tea Bag Blah Blah. Same DNC talking points.

Flame away, but this TV gig is going to be a disaster. She is setting herself up for countless lies. They lie about what Rush and every other Conservative says all the time. Why give them the opportunity.

Progressives have long claimed that Politico is funded by conservative money-men and is unduly solicitous of right-wing causes. I have always found it rather even-handed, but as with the mainstream media's view of Fox News, anything that isn't overtly left-wing is perceived as slanted toward conservatives.

By the way, Politico has a good article today on Steve Schmidt's war against Sarah Palin.

I disagree - the more that people hear Sarah’s own words (as opposed to what they are told by biased liberals that she said), it can only help her. I think it will also give her an opportunity to hone her speaking skills and advance her knowledge of public issues.

I hope you are correct, I just cringe every time she is quoted seeing Russia from her front porch. Liberals don’t want the truth, they want 8th grade BS rumors.

I think this is the best thing she can do! By the time 2012 rolls around all the mud slingers will have run out of gas and sound like broken records. They will be old and tired and she can hit the ground running!

She will continue to be a household name. I also agree that this will hone her skills to the max and won’t be blindsided by the vile attacks from the left. I have no doubt she will turn all the vitriol against them. It will be an interesting next few years to be sure.

"This is a test. If you can’t read what she said and realize the headline is BS, then you’re probably one of the 15% liberal kooks who will never give Sarah Palin credit for anything."

While I do think that Politico COMPLETELY mischaracterized what she said to O'Reilly - and the mischaracterization was so divorced from what she actually said, it had to be an intentional smear - Palin does demonstrate that she is going to create some problems for herself with respect to her communication skills, and her grammatical faux pas. As an example, she said “uncomfortableness” in last night's interview.

Palin may be a true-conservative, and she's certainly charismatic, her stumbled locutions will continue to be ample fodder for her detractors - especially her comedic detractors. It will present some problems for her in another general election. People can engage in legitimate debate with respect to Palin's qualifications; There's more than ample evidence that she's was more qualified than Obama was at the time of his own inauguration. But, speech and communication skills matter. I'm afraid that this will be a sizable burden she'll have to overcome to have any realistic shot at national office.

Perhaps a weekly or semi-weekly television appearance is just the practice she needs to improve her extemporaneous speaking abilities.
