I don't know if it is the lesser of two evils, but a reality that one must come to terms with. Whereas I would love nothing better than 100 conservative senators, that may not be feasible considering the demographics of certain areas of the country. That realization may save a lot of gnashing of teeth. (not that you are doing that.) Same is true with the House. For example, Harlem is not going to elect a conservative...

To get Brown in Kennedy's seat would be a major victory and not the lesser of two evils.

And I take it as reality that it shouldn't matter as much as it does who is in office. Cut government down to size and it won't so much matter.
