Her admission Monday that she would spend “every waking moment” campaigning for governor ignores the promise she made to Texans in her initial campaign ad for governor: “I’m going to do everything I can to stop the government takeover of health care, and it’s why I’m staying in the Senate though the primary, at risk to my political future. I cannot walk away while this is pending in Congress.”

“It’s unfortunate the people of Texas will now have only one senator representing their needs in Washington,” said Texans for Rick Perry spokesman Mark Miner. “If Senator Hutchison is no longer interested in doing the job the people of Texas elected her to do, she should resign now and allow Texas to have full-time representation in the United States Senate.”

From an outsider looking in, Perry seems like an attractive candidate for Pres. However, I’ve seen a number of you make some comments about him that makes me think he’s not exactly what he appears to be (I know, go figure. He would have to be the first politician to be something other than what he says he is./sarc). Anyways, I was hoping some of you Texans or people that pay a little closer attention can tell me the truth about this guy.

As an insider, I can tell you that he's just another filthy RINO.

Both are about equally filthy. If you want to vote for a conservative, vote for Debra Medina.

“I’m going to do everything I can to stop the government takeover of health care...

No Way Kay already abandoned that when she joined the Dems in voting for cloture.

Yep, Kay is about as RINO as they come. Perry is a RINO by Texas standards, which is better than you would find in most other areas of the country. Neither is a FReeper standard candidate, but Perry is the better choice.

Which makes Medina the only clean choice.

REMEMBER THIS, TEXANS:

Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress

“One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchison’s amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.”

I agree with you.

Perry is a RINO by Texas standards, but far more conservative than the RINOs in D.C.!

KBH has to go, as she abandoned her conservative constituents long ago and proven it with her cloture votes on key issues of concern to Texans, including HCR and border security.

Medina is a Libertarian who voices some conservative views, but is polling at less than 10%. While she can come across fairly well in interviews, she has no chance at Governor and it would be a wasted vote for her; just making the race closer for Perry vs. KBH.

Don’t like her name do you?

I guess Seguin would be an absolute deal breaker.

Media ad:
“Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

Medina’s cultural heritage is German and Bohemian.

She told a colleague last month in an e-mail. “Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

But before she explained that, she told my colleage, who had asked her whether she considers herself Latina: “I’d not consider myself anything other than a wife and mother, a nurse and a patriot. I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.”

So I’m sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected.

She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they shouldn’t vote, when they learn English then let them vote.
Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.

So her running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.

No, thanks, I’ll stick with ‘ol RINO Perry.
We don’t have a heck of a big choice; a MUSLIM, a trecherous RINO woman* (Hutchison) and a woman with questionable loyalties.

Perry managed the Mondale campaign against Reagan in Texas in 84 and supported Gore in 88. He was a democrat long after the Reagan Revolution. He sold our toll roads to foreigners, tried to run a huge strip of highway through the state, to be built by a foreign company, and tried to force a vaccine on young girls, ALL COMPANIES INVOLVED HAVING HIRED HIS BUDDIES.

KBH has her faults, Perry is an ass.
