Bush should've said no to that stupid TARP. That would've went a long way in keeping the blame off of him.

Brilliant! Then when 100 US banks collapsed, thereby collapsing the entire US economy followed by the collapse of the world economy, would that have then been his fault?

They never needed the TARP to begin with. It's naive to believe otherwise.

Good point.

TARP is a loan project of which nearly all is being paid back timely per the agreement. One can argue the merits of such loan projects but it's no pell mell giveaway.

What is more troubling was the AIG bailout, GMC and Chrysler, GSCO bailout and the Stimulus pork giveaways which dwarf TARP.

Huge direct government throwaways of cash...particularly in the stimulus bill which was just one big Democratic party orgasm of throwing our cash at all their community activists groups and pet social change projects.
