I’m wondering if the service provider makes a difference?
PS, I’m at the show as well. My son has a droid from verizon, the number of available apps is astounding, the internet connection was fast, the bad side for me is the issue of delicate. Not that the phone is, but I need a hardened phone for my work. Been through many, and my Casio GZOne has been durable and sturdy under my conditions. None of the smart phones would make it, for me, but I could get one for the wife and then if I needed internet, I could borrow hers. Neat.
The droid would be my first choice since it offers so much. At least through verizon. And for as long as Verizon allows certain features to be available. Son did extensive research before buying his Droid. Bought on the first day available and he now values it almost more than his apple computer.
Lucky you!
Have him check out google translate.
Speak in English and it translates and speaks in dozens of different languages.
It’s kind of like the first time you ever see a GPS work, you just say wow.
