Rumors are spreading fast and furiously among supporters of recently-fired Texas Tech University football coach Mike Leach. But are they true? I investigate.
That's right, Texas Tech does not even bring in close to the amount of cash that is earned by the University of Texas. And, not only does Texas take in more cash than any other school, but they also contend for the National Championship and go to real bowl games.
Most importantly, unlike the conservative leadership of Texas Tech, the hippies in Austin do not fire their coach for trivial matters.
And today, the Longhorns are at the Rose Bowl in California where it is 70 degrees and not in Lubbock where it is 20 degrees.
Well at least the Sand Aggies have their Fat Girlfriends to keep them warm.
Apparently, you believe that the appropriate thing to do when people are not logically discussing the issue is to get down and dirty with them - a very Democratic mindset I might add. My mother told me a little anecdote about these types of arguments: never wrestle with a pig in mud; you get dirty and the pig enjoys it!
Let’s, as grown-ups, return the conversation to a level of degree that is benevolent to both the participants, as well as the subject matter at hand.
Benevolent??? Yeah right
And sadly, your players will have to have the news read to them after they lose tonight, because most are illiterate.
We will see, but I would rather see my team lose the National Championship Game than win the Alamo Bowl.
Today’s good coaches have to wear many hats besides coaching. They have to be father figures, smoozers, fund raisers and politicians.
I don’t get this gasping outrage of having a yahoo player with a MILD concussion sent to a dark place during practice. Somehow I thought Texas Tech was above this stupid girly man drama.
Good luck tonight in your quest for a loss, rather than a lowly win.
“Perhaps that is the difference in us - I love my team, even when they go to a bowl that is too lowly for you, and you think you are above it all. Of course my team has actually gone to a bowl for 10 straight years, and yours hasn’t.”
“Good luck tonight in your quest for a loss, rather than a lowly win.”
As a Longhorn historian, could you please tell me when in the last ten years the Longhorns have not been to a bowl game?
And as a Texas Tech fan, could you please tell me how many national championships that Tech has won?
Once again, the communication has broken down between the two of us. I do not recall “blowing up” about anything; I believe I asked you a simple question. Funny thing is that in your reply you stated you did not refer to any FR - and then referred me to the posts that were made by FRs! Exactly how does that work?
Now, you want to throw off our entire back and forth with a a very late and “feckless” dismissal of my first reply.
Obviously, you believe that Coach Leach should have been fired for doing something that did nothing to harm Adam James. Maybe hurt his feelings, but did not “harm” him. I, on the other hand, believe that he did nothing that warranted a termination.
How about we agree to disagree and move on about our lives.
And I would assume a school who has 130 million dollars for their atheletic department should be able to buy a national championship every single year - if not, they aren't managing that money very well.
In the 2001 season, the Horns were in the Holiday Bowl and beat UW and in the 2002 season were in the Cotton Bowl and beat LSU.
And in 2005 the Horns were National Champions.
How many national or Big 12 Championships has Tech won?
And I see that Mike Leach is getting ready to sue Texas Tech and I imagine that the Sand Aggies and their Fat Girlfriends are going to have to write a Fat Check to Coach Leach.
And while I love my alma mater, Coach Leach was fired because some idiots in admin and a dirty donor were out to get him. In my opinion it was an illegal firing and he deserves compensation. I only hope some of the Admins responsible get pink slips too. It may be called Mike Leach University before this is over with.
