Rumors are spreading fast and furiously among supporters of recently-fired Texas Tech University football coach Mike Leach. But are they true? I investigate.
Bump for your info in case either of you are interested.....
You are reacting to the spin on this story just like democrats do - Coach Leach hasn't had any complaints prior to this and no rumors of abuse of any sort.
He's a Mormon, an attorney, and a coach who can win and still get his players to graduate. Compare that to the big winning Universities - check their grad rates of 40% compared to our 79% ( and yes, they account for those who leave early for NFL careers)
the long march into insanity hates Tech - and has been on every thread attacking us. I don’t think he went to college or maybe doesn’t understand football- either way he is begging for attention
Oh, if only I had known he was a Mormon.
Perhaps the most-volatile rumor floating about is that Leach was ousted in a fashion similar to the one that cost John Kerry the presidency in 2004.
I still want to know why no one is screaming about a booster being involved in contract negotiations. Those email just scream corruption and a clear want to get rid of Leach.
You know nothing of this situation other than what you have read by ESPN, who is defending their employee - maybe you should go knit or something and quit bashing like a liberal.
When this is over, they may rename the school to “Mike Leach Tech.”
Well our “bottom tier” program beat Texas last year and has beaten Oklahoma three times in 6 years - We also beat Nebraska this year and their heisman candidate was useless against our defense. We are proud of our team -
You may be right gator - the emails showing this firing has been in the works since March may just get those fire-happy admins in hot water in court. This wasn’t a firing over the little james girl, this was planned and executed for months. Leach didn’t act the way they wanted him to - so they are looking for a coach they can completely control, you know, like Bobby Knight, oh wait, they couldn’t control him either but I do think they were more afraid of him! lol
Just curious......... What does a photo of KBH and the UofH group have to do with James and TT? Why even bring the UH into the discussion?
That said I’d find it hard to believe that KBH would be trying to manage her sucessor when she is up to her eyeballs at best in trying to manage her on campaign and affairs relating to the primary coming up in 55 days on Mar. 2.
As I said, if only I knew the coach was a Mormon that would have changed my mind about everything.
It's always amazing to me how blind some folks are. The only side of the story they know is the ESPN side. They are too lazy to dig into Mike Leach's side of the story. What we have just witnessed is a public hanging led by ESPN (on Craig James behalf).
Poor wittle Adam didn't get to pway as much as he wanted to. That mean wascally coach Leach wouldn't let Adam be the star, and Cwaig didn't like to see his baby boy cry.
There is a railroad in West Texas. And the good old boy network is running it.
WOW, you sure take everything personal. Since the whole story around Leach and Adams involves a concussion ( or two) my comment was not directed at any FR. Read some of the previous threads and see the nake calling and crude remarks that have been posted.
And please relax. Not everything is about you ( and that is how grown ups are supposed to respond)
And since Leach does not teach ANYTHING other than football, how is he personally responsible for all these graduates???? Your logic is impossible AND you do not understand sarcasm when you see it
bttt
He made sure his players went to class and study hall and if they didn’t, there were football related consequences; and he had at least one creative way with one player to make it more appealing to go to class than not. This player didn’t complain about his punishment and he got the message.
Calling people “knuckle draggers” is the correct means of response for a grown-up? How quaint it must be in your neighborhood; is avoiding drive-bys considered family time too?
Responding in-kind to crudeness, is not the way MOST grown-ups converse - at least not in my neck of the woods.
When the term “pussy” is thrown around over and over by people referring to an athlete with a concussion, yes knuckle dragger” is adult and appropriate
