Well, I’m going to cancel the card just on the basis of the poor customer service.

American Express is light years ahead of them. You call them and you get someone who isn’t from India and when you do get someone from America,unlike the Chase rep, they understand the problem and fix it.

This is the reason I stopped buying H-P computers and switched to Dell ( although they’re not that great either.)

I don’t cancel cards, it has a bad effect on one’s credit score. Just let it hibernate is my advice. I like AX but they’ve cancelled some cards on us recently because we weren’t using them. BTW both my husband and I have high credit scores but the cancellations dropped the scores down a little.

We have Capital One, Discover, Citizen’s Bank, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, American Express, Bank of America, Fidelity, GM, Chase and GM. We use them to get airline miles or for balance transfers at low or zero interest.
