If you've paid by check in the past they probably retained the routing numbers. That's all they need to draft the account. More and more places are no longer submitting the physical check, just the account number and a request for money. It is amazing how unsecure that whole system is.

Because when you enroll for online banking you give it to them. However, they’re not supposed to debit it without authorization.

No, I'M confused! Some guy has a bad experience with a customer service operator from a bank, writes about it on his blog, it gets posted on a forum like this, and it gets over 50 replies so far!?
My mailman gave me my neighbor's mail last week! I'm gonna write a blog about it and post it on legit political/news forums. I'll ping all of you.
