The Democrats are simply rearranging the deck chairs with fresh faces.

With Dodd off the ballot that seat goes from Leans Republican to Likely Democrat retention.
With Ritter off the ballot that governorship goes from Likely Republican Pickup to Toss Up or slight lean Republican.
The Dems improved their chances on those two by retiring unpopular incumbents.

I agree it's a real possibility. They'll rig it for the new people where possible. I don't think anyone would believe it if Dodd won again so they wouldn't be able to pull off the steal. Bring a new guy in and they'll make it work.
To: NewJerseyJoe
with Dodd yes he was damaged and any other Dem in CT will probably (but not definitely) keep the seat. however in CO gov, MI gov and ND Senate this only solidifies GOP opportunities.

Yep, now they can vote with impunity to screw America, in return for a nice cushy no show up job in the politburo ... Maybe even a newly minted spokesman for the global warming liars, say $250,000 a year.
By now most are figuring out corruption is the only product of the federal government.

Probably true, but the stink they have left on the party label will still endure in to the 2010 elections even with
new candidates.

The census and Universal Voter Registration will leave the Congressional Rats in good shape in 2012.

The Dems are trying to take controversial votes in Washington off the table during the campaign. The replacement Dem can claim “I had nothing to do with that!”....

I'd say you're exactly right. Although I'm still glad Dodd will have his fatass outta there. He should be in jail.

This is the political shrewdness I have come to expect from Democrats. Think 'Frank Lautenberg' here. Torticelli was facing a NJ Senate election he would lose. So rather than lose the seat, the DNC forced Torticelli to withdraw so that they could put forth a candidate who could win.
It is the same here with Dodd. Rather than have Dodd lose the next election, they will replace him with an empty-suit Democrat who they think can win. This is all about power.

Of course this happening...you can bet there will be provisions providing future immunity for these crooks as well.

My first reaction is that they are leaving to enjoy the “stash” from the stimulus and other payoffs, and enter a super luxurious lifestyle with the taxpayers cash. My second reaction is that they are leaving now before they get caught!

There is no such thing as a moderate democrat, so we must assume that they will run these types in the these vacated spots.
But you know something? I don’t care. Getting Chris POS Dodd out of there is a plus under any circumstance. Same with Harry Reid and Pelosi.
WE must run conservative candidates on a national platform.

A lot of posting on blogs lately have people screeching “Don’t vote for ANY incumbants.” So...if the Demoncraps load up a lot of races with “new faces” and the Sheeple stick with not voting for any incumbants, this could work well for the Demoncraps.
People need to learn how to THINK logically and rationally and for themselves where voting is concerned but I don’t see that happening in just 9 short months.
