Thank you for that. I was at the NY World's Fair in '64 and again in '65. I was all of 13 years old standing in line for the Futurama exhibit in 1964, as well as the others, the GE pavilion that was the first large-scale public demonstration of nuclear fusion, and the one that was my favorite, the one whose name seems appropriate for the great American experiment in republican gvovernment, the Tower of Light. Like Bill Whittle, the experience moved and stirred me in my very soul. Seeing and experiencing the magic wrought by American industry and ingenuity, the mighty works of a free and noble people, was nothing less than spellbinding and enthralling for a young mind. It all seems so long ago and far away.
So, I appreciate Whittle's pep talk. I hope I am wrong. But seeing the way Obama and the 'Rats are seemingly running wild in the streets, tearing down and crushing those dreams that so captivated me those years ago, well, as he says in his narrative, it is heartbreaking, to say the least.
You’re welcome.. I was there in 1964. I was only 8, but remember it vividly. Glad you also enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
What our society has become makes me ill.
