The system that worked:
Were counting now on the incompetence of terrorists to prevent things like PETN from detonating on a plane, killing all on board and possibly killing hundreds more as flaming debris rains down on Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Thats the system that worked?
Were supposed to hope that there are enough brave people on board plance who will tackle would-be terrorists and prevent further damage to our airplanes? Thats the system that worked?
Plus awesome video of PETN exploding

I call on at least one US Representative with guts to introduce an article of impeachment to the House Judiciary Committee, even though it wont go anywhere, the voice must be raised.
The liberals are also blaming Condi Rice saying she had a memo about 9/11 and sat on it.
The woman is a disgrace.
What are you getting so upset about? It’s just man caused disasters......./sarc
Woman?
What a total babbling fool. There were over 5000 flights in the air at the time. (go to flightaware.com to see all instrument flight airplanes in the air at the present time). President Bush not only notified them all, he had most of them landing within 90 minutes after 911. Fire Napolitano.
50/50.
The Obama Company Line:
These policies were put in place 2-3 years ago....
It’s Bush’s fault.
This administration can’t protect a White House Party from being infiltrated, they certainly have not protected this country which has had TWO terrorist attacks in just months!!
In a parlimentary system, the prime minister would already have privately demanded her resignation.
Spend any amount of money. Do anything to harass regular traveling citizens..ANYTHING. Except a logical sensible easy solution. PROFILE MUSLIMS STUPID!
I have seen this several times and it's simply wrong. The first attempt to detonate the explosive device took place shortly after they started their approach to the airport. Had it worked as planned and the plane been brought down by the device it would have fallen many miles from the airport.
So much of the reporting on this situation has been absolutely inaccurate. Other than putting out the fire the passengers did little to save the flight. Had the device worked as planned it would have all been over in matter of seconds, certainly less than a minute. Not to detract from the actions of the passengers but once the device flamed instead of exploding the mission was pretty much a failure.
The worst part of all of this is that much of what they are doing in response does absolutely nothing to address the failure of the system. Like so much of liberals do after the fact it's just so much fluff. Problem is, that fluff is going to make air travel even more taxing than it already is. From that standpoint the mission was indeed a success. Just ask the 25,000 passengers who were stuck in England in the immediate aftermath.
Regardless of how badly the mission failed in its primary goal of bringing down the aircraft every attempt succeeds in making life more difficult for millions of travelers. Until we find a way to stop even that semblance of success we reward every would-be terrorist with something they don't deserve.
At the very least profile any Muslims whose family warns the US Embassy about them and outs them as Muslim extremists!
I think our media prefers to glom on to the “hero” story. It's human nature to want a happy outcome, even if it's fiction.
Until we find a way to stop even that semblance of success we reward every would-be terrorist with something they don't deserve.Amen to that. A good first step would be to fire Napolitano.
Mohammed Obamma would disagree .... and be happy to watch us get hit with a nuke, care of Allah.
The day after that happens .... lets just put is this way, we wont be sitting on the couch.
The only thing that kept nearly 300 people from being terrorist victims by either blown out of the sky over the Atlantic or incinerated in a fireball over Detroit was the failure of the terrorist’s bomb to detonate. The entire airline security system failed at multiple levels so for Napolitano to insinuate it worked is a total fabrication.
My bad, too. I didn’t mean to say that YOU were misreporting! I have read so many stories about what did, and didn’t happen, and most of them contain basic inaccuracies.
Sorry if I seemed to indicate this was an error on your part!
But we are certainly in agreement on the second part. We are letting these guys make our lives increasingly miserable and inconvenient, not to mention EXPENSIVE(!) with even the slightest effort on their part.
I’m at the point where I would withdraw every bit of the TSA apparatus from airports big and small. Post a sign saying the airline passenger’s safety cannot be assured and they travel at their own risk. The sign should provide several ‘hints’ as to things the passengers should look for in the terminal and especially on the flight. It should also assure them they are at no risk if they take matters into their own hands when they feel threatened.
Then I would draw up a list of the 100 or so most ‘holy’ sites to Muslims, in ascending order. At the bottom, or top if you prefer, is Mecca. At the top, or bottom, would be a couple of local sites of little consequence to most Muslims. I would tell the Muslim world that at the first sign of ANY terrorist acts against Americans anywhere in the world we will wipe out the site at the top of the list. Then they could decide how many of their ‘holy’ sites they are willing to lose to inconvenience Americans. Put the ball squarely in their court. Also reserve the right to take out more than one ‘holy’ site at a time.
Enough is enough. And for my money we’ve had more than enough. It’s time the ‘peace’ loving Muslims are forced to take sides.
The life of a single America fighting man or woman is more important to me than Mecca and/or any other site on the list. Period.
Stuff moving forward at several hundred miles per hour will continue moving forward on it’s way down. It does not drop straight down.
True, but not 30 miles or more!
