Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain could be facing a tough re-election bid in 2010 if former GOP Rep. J.D. Hayworth decides to run against in the Republican primary. Hayworth has not yet announced a decision, but polls show him virtually dead-even with McCain should he seek the nomination. Whichever wins the nomination is considered a virtual shoe-in to be elected in the Fall campaign with Democrats on the run in the wake of Obama's first year in office:
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, could be in for a bumpy re-election ride should former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, R-Ariz., run against him in the primary. But if McCain survives the primary, most experts believe he has little to worry about from the Democrats. . . . .Here is video of Hayworth speaking a few weeks ago to the Arizona GOP State Party Headquarters . . . (VIDEO)
On the Senate side, McCain is seeking a fifth term. So far, no marquee-name Democrat has emerged to challenge him, with Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman the most prominent possible candidate.
Despite topping the GOP's national ticket in 2008, McCain's toughest fight could come in the Republican primary. His opponents already include Minuteman Civil Defense Corps co-founder Chris Simcox and could include Hayworth, the six-term congressman upset by Mitchell in 2006.
Hayworth, now an afternoon conservative radio-talk-show host on Phoenix radio station KFYI, is considering a run. A recent statewide poll found him in a virtual tie with McCain.
"No matter who runs, I always take every race seriously. I always work hard," McCain said. "Since the end of my presidential campaign, as I have traveled extensively in the state, I have been very touched by the warmth of the reception I have gotten." . . . MORE
Behold an example of what resides in the US Congress; an Elitist drunkard that disgraces his country and the state he represents. Clean the RAT sewer in 2010 and 2012

J.D. Hayworth could be a lying, thieving, backstabbing politician and he still would be better than McLame, cause J.D. Hayworth is NOT a RINO.
Juan McLame however is a damned RINO p.o.s. and the rest speaks for itself.
I don’t live in AZ, but I did vote for him for President. The alternative, which we ended up getting, is proving to be disastrous.
I’m taking the long view that it is way more important to win the whole war than it is to win a small battle in AZ. Resources, which may be scarce given the economic climate, need to be and should be applied in ways that create victory in the whole war.
Yeah, but McCain has been trying to sound like a conservative lately. We are supposed to forget the BS he said about Bozo during the 2008 campaign, the McCain/Feingold bill and other RINO like activities. He needs to resign for the good of the country. I don’t know what this other guy is like but he couldn’t do much worse.
run JD, run. the team needs you
