The guy was caught and nobody was hurt, but it is still too early for the obvious joke of the futility of bombing Detroit.
So, as everybody already knows, on a Northwest Airlines flight to the Motor City, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to set his underwear on fire, hoping for an explosion. No jokes there, either.
The print media has, unlike the Fort Hood shooting, immediately labeled the failed attack terrorism (or man caused disaster, if youre an Obama supporter). They have also diligently pointed out that Abdulmutallab was a Christian.
Just kidding!
He was actually a Buddhist.
Another joke!
Maybe Abdulmutallab was a Jew? Shintoist? Taoist? Zoroastrianist? Another devotee of Haile Selassie?
Actually, there is no indication in any major media organization of the mans religion, or lack of it. The Fruit-of-the-Loom Bomberfor that shall be his name evermoremight have been an atheist.
However, even The Freep, the undead paper of the undead city that was targeted, has refused to speculate on this important topic.
But perhaps there are clues?...

Thus allow me to be the first to offer what I imagine will be several ribald remarks:
"Talk about getting your rocks off!" lol
Good thing the plane and the other passengers were saved.
Too bad he didn’t vaporize his nether parts. Hope somebody gets a chance to finish the job for him sometime....
I have flown that route one time.
In the really good times from 2000 till whenever.
KLM ran a nonstop flight between Memphis and Amsterdam.
It was great, but my last flight on that route had some excitement.
In a few seats behind me, but over in the center section, some little kids were turning around and making faces, I guess, at
some middle eastern guys.
Well, one of the guys took a piece of cardboard and marked on it “Boom Boom”.
Well, that did not go over very well.
When we landed in Memphis, we were told to remain seated... US marshals would be boarding the plane.
About six big and mean looking guys came up the isle from the gate. They had the list and told about 4 guys to get up and go with them.
They were detained until the next day.
Even though the guy thought he was making fun, it is a real no no on an international flight.
Sadly, the Memphis/Amsterdam flight was canceled, and now it is via Detroit, and not on KLM.
Hey, Jack! Which way's Mecca?
“Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to set his underwear on fire”
Now we are going to have to go through the screening section naked.
Thanks Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
It’s ok ,the airlines have solved the problem by not letting anyone leave their seat for an hour before landing.
I suppose they make a last call announcement before the hour comes up.
“Anybody who has to use the toilet better get it done before the “last hour”.
Sounds stupid to me ,but I am sure this will assure the safety of everyone, “Although there is a good chance you might crap yourself”.
I come to America and all I get is my package burn off. Don’t worry rag head they will graft pig skin to fix it. LOL
DEPENDS? ? ! ?
I believe the Fruit-of the Loom bomber lost his banana.
Has anyone heard of specific reports of his injuries? The media was describing them as 3rd degree burns to his lower body. The reports also said he didn’t appear to be in any pain. Is that consistent with 3rd degree burns?
Sounds like premature immolation.
he went to bathroom and emitted the syringe from his rear end. then took the syringe back at his seat and injected to the bad in his underwear.so now u will have to do this mr terrorist 1 1/2 hrs before landing
Holy Hanes, Ethyl
I saw a video tape, something along the lines of COPS: Uncensored .
There was a house fire and this guy comes out . He's been burned and his skin just peels off in large sheets.
The camera man tells the guy to have a seat and gets the attention of a cop and a fireman/EMT to try to assist him.
The burn victim wasn't making a sound. No screams, no cries, didn't say a word, but he was walking around as in a trance.
That was about the spookiest thing I'd ever seen.
