Don't ever count an evil person out in a contest over anything.

Noted, with one retort, They have hubris in great quantity right now and typically Americans have voted for gridlock. 2008 was a unique situation in which Americans were absurdly manipulated by the MSM. This advantage will evaporate as the dying media that they control becomes irrelevant.

In theory you’re right and we should have every advantage going into 2010 but I’m just very nervous about the nearly infinite capacity of the GOP “leadership” to miss an opportunity. Although I have to admit, the Republican Party looked very good in the recent struggle in the Senate to try to stop the HealthBomb. I nevertheless remain very nervous.

I’m sort of counting on Palin to ride roughshod over the process and keep the GOP from punking out. But as good as she is, there’s only so much one person can do. What if this idea takes hold in the minds of the RNC and the majority of GOP candidates: the best approach is to moderate our criticism of the Health Bill?

Don’t think it can’t happen. The GOP looks at “moderation” and “bipartisanship” as the twin faces of Pure Good in the Universe.
