America may vote for Republicans hoping to repeal Obamacare in 2011, but nothing’s going to get repealed because of next year’s election. There’s only 15 Senate Democrats up for election next November and that includes such “senators for life” as Inouye, Schumer and Leahy. Even if the Republicans were to win every contested Dem seat, the Senate would still line up only 55-43-2 for the Republicans and the Dems would still have 40 to filibuster to preserve the status quo and 34 to sustain an inevitable veto. We’re stuck with whatever passes next month until after 2012 at the earliest.

And, meanwhile, here on FreeRepublic, you’ll have a bunch of folks saying they’ll never vote GOP again since the Republicans haven’t repealed ObamaCare. I saw it when the GOP had the majority. There was a bunch of folks here that either couldn’t understand concepts like 60 votes for cloture or just wanted to bash the GOP.
But you forget - if Republicans have majorities in the House and or Senate, they can demand hearings into Obummer’s elegibility, ie, demand he produce his real Birth Certificate.
If he doesn’t, we have a Constitutional crisis.
Otherwise, he is proven to be inelegible and all legislation he has signed becomes invalid, or at least, under review.
But it will take some courage on the part of Republican legislators to follow through with that.
