I bought my 70 y/o Mother a Jeep for Christmas...well, a radio control one. She was down for Thanksgiving this year and was talking about how they couldn't afford to give presents one year when she was a kid, so they cut pictures out of magazines of things they would like to give each other and put them in envelopes. A few days later, she mentioned that she wished she could afford to trade her van for a Jeep. She had bought the van when my Dad was still alive as he was in a wheelchair for the last few years of his life.

So...I sent her the Jeep in her Christmas package with a set of gold earrings inside that she had admired in the store when she was here and a Billy Graham desk calendar. She was puzzled at first and called to ask me if I had sent her one of the grandkid's presents by mistake. Then I reminded her about the pictures and told her that at least she can actually drive this one. She's apparently been showing it off to everyone in the retirement center since then, LOL!
