FOX was saying that they already have plans to rewrite the Abortion language when it goes back to the House. With the strong majority they have, they will convert it back into a Government option as well.

Not all Blue Dogs are pro-life Dems, conversely, not all pro-life Dems are Blue Dogs. Stupak has said repeatedly and early on that if the final version of the bill provides public funding for abortion, he has the votes in his pro-life caucus to kill the bill outright.

Let's see if he and his colleagues actually have principles and will follow through with their promise to those who have no ability to speak or defend themselves.

To display your displeasure, simply mail 30 nickles to his office...

Yup, that'll show him, $1.50 in donations from conservatives.

As a Nebraskan I have a feeling Ben Nelson is not planning to run again. He’s just another political whore, and next time....one of two very good conservative candidates will be on the Republican ballot.

Then what about “equal protection?”

“I see the legality of this being challenged very early on. Asking 49 states to subsidize one, just won’t cut it.”

If this bill has to pass, I hope that the SC cuts out the bribes to NE and LA, then those states can stew...and whatever happens to Nelson and Landrieu.

The deal for Ben Nelson includes additional Medicaid funding for Nebraska and carve outs for physician owned hospitals in Nebraska -- and Nebraska only. Uncle Sam will take the hit for 100% of the Medicaid expansion for Nebraska, forever. Nebraska is the only state to get this deal.
It's a great alibi for him, what with his pretending to be pro-life and all; none of these deals will be in the House bill, and will vanish in conference committee, assuming of course that the entire bill doesn't die there.

How about a Constitutional amendment requiring no special insurance plan and no special pension plan for federal officials?
