Keep in mind that nowadays, the Constitution is looked at more as a “gimme gimme gimme” document than the restriction on government it was intended to be. In light of that, it really shouldn’t be surprising people don’t seem concerned by the government’s ignoring of it.

I am afraid I have some bad news for Nancy Tengler, this government has been usurping the “people power” in this country (with only a couple of hick-ups) for the past 150 years. We now have a government of the lawyers by the lawyers and for the lawyers and that does not leave much for the rest of us. So we just pay our taxes and keep reelecting the same thing every 2-4 years.
