Well, it has lots of adherents and is very effective at spreading itself.
I understand Mao, Hitler and Stalin were very effective as leaders, too.
Many great causes and great men have also been evil. Islam is an example of this sad fact about fallen humanity.
Not sure you'd consider me sane, but,to the extent of my familiarity with those doctrines, he's right.
His point is absolutely correct: we need to have an accurate understanding of what those doctrines are about.

What he neglects to say is that this remark came as preparations for war were underway. That started immediately after 9-11.
I guess the author expected Bush to declare war on the entire Muslim world.

as for the ‘ignoramus’ in the white house now, he is marxist muslim intent on declaring islam world rule, surrounded by muslim-aligned shadow government czars.

There is no particular reason a religion stops being a religion just because it’s evil or murderous.
History shows plenty of examples of evil religions.
