What CAN Sharpton & Jesse say?

The Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference today to blast Tiger Woods for the lack of diversity among his mistresses. Sharpton claims that the lack of African-American women among Woods’ harem will have a negative affect on the black community, specifically young black girls.

“Why is it that a man who calls himself black can’t bring himself to cheat on his wife with a black woman?” said Sharpton, speaking to a group of supporters in Harlem. “What does it say to young black girls everywhere when you pass them over? Shame on you, Tiger Woods. What would your daddy say?”

Sharpton, who has long championed taking black women as mistresses, said that today’s black athletes need to stop neglecting black women when it comes to extramarital affairs, and should follow the examples of positive black role models such as Jesse Jackson and Martin Luther King, Jr., both of whom cheated on their wives with black women. Sharpton also stressed that cheating with African-American women would help the black community financially by giving black girls the chance to sell their stories to tabloids and gossip magazines.

Added Sharpton, “I’m not asking you to not cheat on your wives, I’m just asking you to give back to your own community.”

I used to be pretty good at spotting satire. Even tried a little of my own at times. I have to admit, your post has me at a loss. I THINK it is satire, but it is so close to the truth about how this piece of s@#t thinks, I just don’t know!

I’m white, Italian. My sweetie is Indian. And a dozen years younger than me. Both Catholics. Live 2,000+ miles apart. He’s a White Sox/Bulls fan. I’m a longsufferingTribefan/Cavs fan. He’s a recovering lefty wingnut; I’m conservative. And he’s getting an autographed Liberty and Tyranny for Christmas.

One thing you’ll note about libs; they talk a good game, but it’s unusual to find a mixed race couple among them. Most mixed race couples lean right.

Your post reminded me of something I heard at least ten years ago, on drive time talk radio in Cleveland. I can’t remember why it came up. But the ballsy host asked black men to call into his show asking why it is that successful, wealthy black men (Like professional athletes) gravitate toward white women, once they’ve “made it.” And I’ll never forget his answer.

He said “You people don’t get it; how it is here in the ‘hood. All our billboards, everywhere you turn...it’s beautiful white women like Cindy Crawford. Back in the day, you couldn’t turn a corner in my neighborhood without seeing Farrah Fawcett or Suzanne Somers. That is the example of beauty presented here. So that is what we strive for; to have one of these on the arm. It confirms that we have ‘made it.’ “

IMO a white man that dates a white woman that has been dating blacks is playing Russian roulette with STD’s. In our area, any woman that has been dating a black man is suspect for STD’s.

It used to be that if a person had any amount of black blood in him, he was considered fully black. We are told that was a racist attitude.

Woods and Obama are partially black, but we are required to think of them as fully black. So, why isn’t that racist?

Why is a person who is 50% black and 50% white automatically considered "black" --- to the point that we are required to think of him as "black"?

Somewhere in one of his books Obama talks about decided to choose the black identity. That's one time he was honest. Race, in this day or interraciality, is nothing more than a political/cultural/social construct --- and a voluntary one at that. No matter what your skin color, there are some blacks that won't consider you "black" unless you act/talk/vote a certain way.

If Tiger Woods likes white women and has the money to pay for them, that’s his business.

Everyone seems to assume that Woods dallied with white women because he found them more attractive than black women.

But isn't it also likely that these women simply reflect the people he "runs with" in his socioeconomic lifestyle? Yes, he picked up waitresses and porn stars, but even so they were women who he could meet just leading his life.

One woman was a waitress at a Dennys where Tiger and Elin regularly ate breakfast. This would not be a Dennys down in some urban center, but one near their mansion in Orlando. Of course the waitresses there are more likely to be white than not.

IOW, how many black women did Woods even meet in his day to day life? Not as many as white women, I can guarantee you that.

Do the math!

Philanderers take up with whomever they meet in their normal course of living, whether it be a waitress or an Argentinian beauty. They don't decide to have an affair and then take a taxi to whatever constitutes "Harlem" to them, in order to troll for a woman that they'd never otherwise run into socially.

You might be right, but let’s see what develops now that it appears that Tiger has been hiring “escorts” along with maintaining a high-maintenance harem. For the $15K per date he was said to be paying, he would be able to pick and choose. How many of the “hired help” are white and how many are black?

Well, honestly Lloyd, yes ... Sharpton and Jackson have led us to believe just that for at least thirty years now. We've always known that it was not the case, but we are a bit smarter than your average bear (blatant Yogi reference -- if you got it we can guess your age!).
