Representative Dan Burton (R-IN) is leading the Save the SEALS mission to pressure the Pentagon to dismiss charges against three of our magnificent Navy SEALS who are accused by savage barbarian Ahmed Hashim Abed of punching him in the mouth; or the stomach, or something.
Abed was the bloodthirsty mastermind behind the massacre of several Blackwater employees who were deployed to deliver catering supplies in Fallujah. Not content to merely ambush and slaughter the victims, Abed went for extra Allah points by setting their bodies on fire and hanging them from a bridge.
Little Lord Abed now contends that our SEALS slugged him. Setting aside the so what aspect of the matter, evidence of any such conduct by our SEALS has yet to be produced. Our SEALS are now set to be court martialed.
What kind of a signal does this send to every military person in the field if, when they capture a major al-Qaeda terrorist, or anyone, if they say they have a bloody lip, youre going to court martial them? said Rep. Dan Burton (R.-Ind.)
Burton told Human Events that Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the SEALs case was part of a military judicial process and that he was not able to interfere.
Thats baloney, said Burton.

They shoulda shot the goat lover.

How is it a waste of time to sign a petition drafted by a sitting member of congress?
I think I can spare the time to sign more than one.
Pray tell us all what exactly the SEALs have been charged with.
As far as you and I know, whatever charges they face are only barely related to the capture of this terrorist, eh? I know that I have read that at least two of them are charged with filing false reports concerning whatever incident happened, which, of course, neither you nor I were privy to. Now, I have to ask, if they did, indeed, file false reports concerning the incident, why should those charges be dropped?
Military law is different, as any vet or active duty person can tell you. What you think you know might not even apply in military justice. So far, you and all the others decrying this ‘travesty’ have only a very filtered side of what happened. You certainly have not heard the government’s case. All you have is rumor and innuendo.
‘Knee-jerk’ reactions used to be only the province of liberals, but it seems to this observer that all this outcry is merely that.
