Copenhagen In CRISIS: Developing Countries Furious Over Leaked Doc. Empowering Rich Countries
UK Guardian/The Lid ^ | 12/8/09 | The Lid

Posted on 12/08/2009 8:11:46 AM PST by Shellybenoit

In the end it may be leaked emails and leaked documents that save the world from "Death by Climate Change Hoax"

Today in Copenhagen a document was leaked containing a draft resolution that would hand more power to rich nations, sideline the UN's negotiating role and abandon the Kyoto protocol. In other worlds give the developing nations very little of what they want.

Developing countries say the document (see the document below) sets unequal limits on per capita carbon emissions for developed and developing countries in 2050, allowing people in rich countries to emit nearly twice as much as those in poor nations.

Copenhagen is a smoke screen. Obama is going to limit CO2 emissions (ie implement cap and trade) through dictatorial fiat using the EPA.

Texas at least will assert sovereignty and opt out.

This could get messy.

Well, to make everything perfectly fair, all of us should immediately move into a mud hut so as to emit the same carbon footprint as developing countries. And shut down hospitals too because they use entirely too much electricity. Indoor plumbing? Do you know how much power that takes to move and treat all that water???

Of course these developing countries have to understand there will be no more shipments of food, arms, medicine or any darn thing for that matter. But at least everything will be FAIR!

You're right, and both Obama and congress are going to hide behind the EPA, as if they are some untouchable god-force from on high.

We need to lean on congress to simply remove the EPAs power to do this. Actually the EPA doesn't even have the power, but will assume it unless congress steps in and stops them.

It's time for the gutless Republicans to make a stand. If they can't stop it, they can at least make the Democratic congress own it by making them vote to support it. It will kill them politically.

If the congressional GOP doesn't step up, we are doomed.

Maybe, with the health bill that will pass, will put the nail in the coffin and 2010 might put the fear in the RATS in Congress. Doubt we can swing the Congress to 51 Republicans but we can hope.

The so-called Danish text, a secret draft agreement worked on by a group of individuals known as “the circle of commitment” – but understood to include the UK, US and Denmark

Bring on the list of “the circle of commitment” members.

Why can’t you just point to the referenced article?

That’s what interests most of us.

We already have enough middlemen telling us what to think.

Let us just read it for ourselves and form our own opinion.

300,000,000 U.S. citizens willingly being led to slaughter by 545 crooks. This is incredable!!!!

I can’t really feel sorry for this population who is doing nothing but talk, talk, talk and complain, complain, complain.

I am very lucky I do not live in the U.S.

Panama is doing extremely great thank you. A continued good growth is expected again next year.

Thank you, Digger.

It hurt to say it, but it had to be said. I’ve been needing and wanting to say it for a long time.
